Bangladeshis eat least meat per capita on earth

i am tires alone this week i have eaten more then 2kg red meat twice chicken and two fishes may be 2 kg . it was only yesterday i eat vegetables aloo palak . life sucks

You ate 2 kg chicken in a day or week? You should like a monster if you ate that in a day or may be you are in muscle building mode.

A country which slaughter 11.5 million cattle just in the Eid-ul-Azha day, then how come it has only 4 kg meat(beef+mutton+poultry) consumption per person per year? There is something seriously wrong with this statistics.

The article said data is from 2009. I highly doubt that though even if it is data from 2009.

Well its Bangladesh....statistics and basic math are not your strong point by a country mile.

3 million is a number thrown around a lot by our lot for a reason.

This report is unbelievable to me. Because it shows Indians per capita consuming more meat than Bangladeshis.

Indians are majority vegetarians or vegans......this is a BS report in my opinion.

Her credibility went out the window with that single statistic.

Bangladeshis are humongous meat eaters. But they are also voracious fish eaters as well.......
Who told you majority Indians are vegetarians,
20-25% are vegetarians that's it (again that was the old figure, currently it will be less than 20%)

I eat beef, chicken almost daily. If not, it is fish. Veggie diet is not popular in Kerala, India. Yes, some forward caste Hindus (Brahmins, some Nairs, GSB's etc) tend to avoid daily meat intake. Cannot really feel "full" with veggies. You will not get the energy or feel really well with the veggies. Though, I like Pao Bhaji or occasional Masala Dosas too.

There is a saying - "there are lies, there are damned lies and then there is statistics"...

People usually don't dine out. At home they eat fish and occassionally meat.
Fish is much more expensive than meat. A chicken costs around 210 to 250 tk per kg whereas Tilapia which is one of the cheapest fish costs around 250 to 300 tk per kg.

The reason people eat fish specially middle class is due to its variety. I can eat 7 types of fish in 7 days in a week. But you cant eat chicken everyday considering people only eat curry in this country.
We dont have BBQ or Baking culture in our country. Curry in a hurry is the way to go.

You get it wrong. Chicken is now 130-140 Taka per kg. It usually remain within 110-150 Taka kg range.Tilapia is not the cheapest fish in Bangladesh. It is Pangas, around 100 taka per kg, Tilapia is 120-130 Taka/kg.
