so what exactly did he invent? making something cheaper =/= inventing it.
The technology seems proprietary and not made public yet - if I had to make an informed guess, it has to do with the way MAGLEV track is manufactured and installed. Conventional MAGLEV track uses very powerful electrodynamic coils to levitate the passenger cars. He must have found a way to do this with a lot less complication (and cost) involved. Using new technology in a traditional field can qualify as an 'invention'. Not arguing - just my opinion.
Details will be sparse until a patent is obtained and the technology commercialized. Even then the technology will be business-proprietary and a closely-guarded secret.
