Bangladeshi music

How about aspects of Dhaka Commercial Media other than music? To start with, here are some recent Dhaka-market TV Commercials by a new creative outfit called Applebox Films. Since funding is always available and plentiful (especially from cellphone providers), some talented short-film makers are embracing this medium to express their creativity. These are I'd say pretty realistic representations of life in today's Bangladesh.

Audio Jukebox for the 2014 release of Bangladeshi motion picture 'Run Out' starring Shajal Noor, Moushumi Nag, Naila Nayem, Omar Sani and More. The second track is the feature track.

Now for something a little light-hearted. This is from a 'formula' tongue-in-cheek drama-comedy with the songs being 'dream sequences'. I don't think the director took himself very seriously and that's what is expected of viewers as well. Complete with 'fun chases around trees' etc.

some people are telling me that the last clip has similarity to Telugu/Kannada market common song sequences...

Although not to everyone's liking - Rap and Hip Hop was once very popular in Dhaka (in the mid 2000's, as in the rest of the world). Stoic Bliss was one quite popular act locally at that time. The production quality and energy belied the raw inexperience of the performers. Rap is not as popular now of course...

STOIC BLISS - Ac1d ft Kazi- Ac1d Ke?

STOIC BLISS - Mayabi Chokh

Now something completely different - a song meant for under five-year-olds. :-)
