Well barrels are priority plans to be made.
For now tank ammos and artillery shell projects are ongoing

They need a second BOF! One isn't enough! They makes some of the morter shells but imports all the warheads. You are right self sufficiency in all types of artillery shells should be prioritiesed.

Do you have any info on the trials? Like it is supposed to be going on for a year now!

155mm barred I’ve heard different calibers have already entered production phase however I don’t know how much of tank shells manufacturing progressed.
BOF is too small to produce quality reliable weapons.

BOF AFAIK was setup in the late 50's or early 60's. The initial scope of production has been exceeded by far today.

7.62mm being significantly larger rounds cause bigger explosions leading to stronger muzzle jumps.

x39 is an intermediate round. Compared to x54 or x51 it's smaller too.

But imo things like muzzle jump & recoil can be minimised by integrity of design. i.e FN FAL is chambered for x51 but compared to other x51 designs the recoil isn't much.
