Ummm DOT have been in Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur for a while. My cousin lives opposite Abahani maath and uses DOT. I use Mazeda.

Of course large parts of the country doesn't have access to broadband - hence the massive under utilization of our current capacity! But, my family is from Feni and we've got it there - BDT 1200 for 1.5mbps connection. Not too shabby for a regional area.

There are broadband services in Chittagong but locally based. But people are more interested in 3g or WIMAX modems.

because BD wont have infrastructure to support 1GBPS for end users, We in toronto just recently started getting 1gpbs connection from bell after their network was converted to Fiber.

that's what we get in our area...i use the 10 Mbps with FTP, 20Mbps in youtube , FTP blah blah blah for 1000 taka...negotiate a bit it could go down to 800 .

I remember paying BDT 1200 for 512kbps in 2007 The increase in speed and drop in prices in a decade has been crazy! And I still think, it should be even cheaper - infact, broadband should be defined in this country as 2mbps. Let that be the starting point of any internet service
