Bangladesh sets export target at $44 billion for FY19

A figure in the Table should self-exemplify itself without an outside explanation that you have given. Another person will again give another explanation. It seems to be like a religion where many men explain a single Arabic word in many different ways.

Should mathematics also be like that? One figure should give only one single meaning. But, the table does not show this in the Growth figure. There is no relation between the growth and export target volume. Why do you think the expressions do not show the ineptitude of the FF persons who prepared it?

The Table should have another column showing the Actual Volume in US$, and the Growth should have been calculated from this column. The table prepared by the BBS is a kind of fuzzy thing that is not understood by the person who reads it. Very unclear and not very objective.

@Nilgiri

It is terrible presentation. Never understood the idea of export target...that too year by year. It is legacy of planned, centralised economy...which is never good.

Not exactly. The govt collects data from different sources and watches the trend before it projects the growth of export for the next fiscal. A centralized planned economy is what is needed for a poor country Bangladesh without the bureaucratic tangling.

Welcome back to our Golden Bengal Sub-Forum. Please keep on sending posts without unnecessary criticisms or using vulgar words/idioms. Some people are fond of killing time to report such posts.

I mean the "growth" listed right next to the target. There should be an actual export amount in between...to see what was actually realised of the "target".

Secondly if it was actually a structured analysis/projection why was the target missed so much in recent years and why is there completely rounded numbers instead of some variance? I mean just look around the time the "target" is just increasing by 1% or so from 37 to 37.5....but the realised growth rate is around 7 or 8% (showing a huge base lag from the target).

Plus 44 billion dollar "target" now?...when nothing huge has changed in the world and the last few years for BD have increased by just 1 or 2 billion USD per year at most (and now wanting a 5+ billion leap)?

This is all the reason why it should be projection (and numbers given that actually strike in ball park of the result) instead of target. Target (at this macro level) is a centralised, communist thinking of actually directing the means of production to meet some quite arbitrary goal....for largely political reasons (compared to economic)....and it seems BD still wants to operate this way given it has much it would rather hide (when it comes to inflation) that GDDS standard accomodates.

The better way is to have actual reforms and free market dynamics operate and let the results be as they may and have projections based on those...and seek to keep improving there (and improving to SDDS standards). But BD govt no interested in that, it would rather beat up students and underreport crimes of the thugs it encourages deploys....so skimps on the analysis (as shown by ESCAP assessment rejection by BD govt) and just prefers to stay GDDS and LDC as long as it possibly can to give optics of growth.

Stupid guy, based on the projection they make budget, calculate revenue and roll out policy to support the target.
People in the helm are expert in economics not PDF passtimer.

Again, its amply clear why you want to identify as mongol lol....given level of stupidity found in your swamp (not to mention winning big fat zero in asian games...worst performance of stunted useless effeminate weaklings ever).

Here is the issue, if "people at the helm are experts in economics", Bangladesh would have been a SDDS category country long ago instead of stuck in its ESCAP rejecting GDDS version.

I mean the level of disparity in the "projection" is plain to see given the growth of that vis a vis the actual realisation....showing either its just a target picked lackadaisically by GDDS ninnys or they are unable to compute anything in a basic way (since they are way off). Either way it illustrates a big deficiency in BBS or whichever losers made this up. I will enjoy Bangladesh falling short of the 44 billion "target" yet again....just like the big fat zero in non-RMG exports being realised.

It is no wonder a decrepit GDDS county dumps its inflation as "growth" and then beats up even small student protests because of fear of being exposed:

https://opinion.bdnews24.com/2017/12/18/where-did-the-benefits-of-economic-growth-disappear/

There is some disquiet among economists about the quality of data provided by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). No less a person than the Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister has expressed his dissatisfaction about the qualifications of the BBS staff and the quality of their work. These are very long standing problems, and yet, very little has been done to improve the quality of the services provided by BBS.

The government is perhaps more worried about the embarrassment an efficient BBS can do to its image with correct data than the harm an inefficient BBS can inflict on policy making and, the economy with incorrect data.

Instead of compiling your wrong thoughts in a few sentences, you have this old habit of writing many epic Mahabharata in every BD-related topics. No one cares to read all your incessant bla bla. Stop bickering all the time, stupid Indian!!

I dont know where this idiot come up with all those weird argument? He thinks he knows everything but I am sure he will fail big time if you ask him to sit in a competitive exam like BCS in BD or civil service in India.
He thinks its that easy...

This @Nilgiri writes a hundred page essay every time. I have read a few, but the more I read the less I understand what he wants to say. All are meaningless jargons. Then he comes with many graphs and figures which are again only tanglings.

He should leave this Forum, and should either go after a Ph.D. thesis on falsehood or he goes for a psychiatric test.

@Nilgiri claims living in the Arctic Canada where the freezing temperature closes offices and shops for more than six months. The govt of Canada sells oil, gas, and timber to the US to support the winter-time unemployed.

@Nilgiri has so much time in this Forum because he lives on the monthly govt ration. His local govt should seek for his psychiatric test and send him to his great India where Ph.D. holders compete for jobs with those who passed class V. @Nilgiri is no more intelligent than such a lowly educated one.

Yes, it is well known that Bangladeshis have a problem with reading. They can handle only one or two lines :D ...any more than that suddenly critical thinking void is exposed. It is after all why a bunch of people here said you are false flagger and even an account of mine haha. Have you forgotten? Or you want to kiss and make up now that you finally realise what Hasina is and what she's there for and for who? That is how easy it is to divide and control and then "chetona/pilkhana" you lot as needed.

It is why that Indian slave lady is your PM and can do what she did to protestors, you all are just simply too stupid. How many Bangladeshis have actually read M A Taslim article in full? Probably same number as medals BD won in Asian games.

Weak in mind, spirit and body...and always will be eternally. Then you wonder why your country cannot even produce basic nails and screws (your words, not mine)...and you will be thinking this exact same thing always in future along with seeing BD (or whatever is left of it) getting submerged by both its diseased roaches and mother nature...enjoy! A well deserved fate for 0 potential kind of ingrate traitors devoid of any thought, meaning or culture....everything of note borrowed from your betters and then used to try hang on to their coat tails shamelessly.

That beggar gene of yours is hardcoded from millenia of abuse heaped on you by your betters....numbers (when done outside your lying groupthink swamp) do not lie. Basket case is a very kind description. What have you as fickle converts (as the time tide dictates) produced in your literature like Mahabharat that you reference? Zilch. Everything is ghoti or connected to it somehow. It shows up quite clearly everywhere...propelled even more with the confused identity complex you harness side by side with traitor/ingrate gene.

British, Pakistanis, Indians and now Burmese and soon to be Chinese are all doing you a big favour by trying to whip you up into some semblance of society by thrashing and extinguishing the slime as needed...which was never done before that. Just bow your heads and say thank you...its even just one line to follow!...simple!

No, Bangladeshis have no problem with reading. On the contrary, you have a problem with writing. You write so many words and sentences but without any clear meaning. But, you think your long essays make you a Pundit. Better you change your writing style to a precise form. People have other things to do. Do you think, people eagerly read your long essays of trashes?

I leave it to actual smart people to adjudicate the content quality.

Bangladeshis are about as good as it as they are at winning medals in sports....already terrible to begin with and declining each time. Your opinion on it is about as worthy as the busboy salary you get in whatever curry dump you work in.

Like has been said, it takes real effort to be worse off than Afghans and Syrians in the US. So there is no point to dumb anything down any more just for you 1 - 2 patent filing lot. BD should change its official language to retardese....so you can get LDC quota treatment there too when you interact with your betters (i.e basically everyone found outside your swamp).
