No, 1971 issues were revived unnecessarily and unduly mostly by some specific people who insults religious people. Hence, this conflict.

Well the Gov can't get hard on them. Bangladeshi society is still a very religious society, especially in the rural areas. They can easily overwhelm the Shahbag mob, if people feel their religious values are being threatened by some atheist revolution.
