What's new

Bangladesh Per capita income now $1314

. . .
Why do every BD has to drag India in their shitty insignificant threads ?
There are two kinds of Bangladeshis - the normal ones and the terrorist loving jamaati razakar ones. Unlike in real life, the second category is the one predominantly on this forum.

If you argue with the second type you will keep arguing till the end of days without an end.

. .
In some ways, Bangladesh is richer than India. India's income per capita is very misleading. The vast majority of wealth in the country is in the hands of too few but in Bangladesh there is greater income distribution. Luckily, the junk of our country, the lower classes, are crossing the border into India because they see no real hope in Bangladesh. They are the useless ones with the low IQ who serve no purpose other than to procreate. And of course, we are also driving out the Hindus from the country, some by force, some are going on their own terms.

So the remaining people pure bred high IQ bangladeshis

.
Who cares what they think,Majority of people can't even point out Where BD on Map and a country exists by the name BD.

Majority of Indians even dont know where is China, so its nothing new.

. . .
Pakistan hasn't has a proper census in over 30 years, there is a good chance their population is under reported. On a per capita basis, I wouldn't be surprised if Bangladesh is already ahead of Pakistan.

Pakistan's last census was in 1998, didn't know that was 30 years ago. You did prove that India has shitty education system.

Pakistan doesn't feel anywhere near as crowded as India or Bangladesh, even Karachi has half the density levels of Mumbai and Dhaka, so I don't think population will be more than Bangladesh,

.
If Pak GDP is now $250b and keeps on growing 4% per year then BD will take over that in 12 years increasing at a rate of 6.5%..

No, that is not how this works.
Let's look at some facts:

Bangladesh is extremely poor, so there is more room for growth. Pakistan was where Bangladesh is today, about 10-15 years ago.
Now Back then, Pakistan didn't suffer from energy shortage much (natural gas or electricity)....however as the economy expanded and the demand for power grew, Pakistan choked on it's own. Pakistan's main hindrance to economy is energy only. Because there is tons of money in Pakistan that can be put in factories, but if you don't have energy, then those factories cannot do anything much. In every industry, Pakistan is still way ahead of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Installed capacity of electricity is 11,500 MW which is derated to 10,500 (http://www.bpdb.gov.bd/bpdb/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=150&Itemid=16|)

Pakistan's total installed capacity is well over 20,000MW, but as due to fuel mismanagement it produces 16-18000 MW.

Let's look at natural gas, Bangladesh demand is 2.5 billion cubic ft a day, Pakistan's is greater than 6 billion cubic ft. Our supply and demand gap is same as Bangladesh total demand

Now we have twice the installed electricity capacity as Bangaldesh and more than twice the natural gas demand....yet our population is 190 million and Bangladesh is 160 million.

So with just 18% more population, why is that Pakistan needs twice the energy amount?
As Bangladesh diversifies it's industry from textiles into other sectors, they'll realize that with energy shortage they too will stifle their growth. So Bangladesh cannot keep growing at 6-7%.
As with any developing economy, you have much room to grow in the beginning, but it will slow down after a certain amount of organic growth has been achieved. As there is the case in China is slowing down because they have expanded so much, but India can grow because they have much room to grow. India will find that after 10 years, they too will have to face the same. This is the process of any country going through a development phase.

So saying that in 12 years, Bangladesh will surpass Pakistan, is really not stating much. Not that it cannot, but my question is, where is that growth going to come from? And during that time, Pakistan won't be sitting still. As energy projects come online, economy will easily add 2-3% growth to the gdp rate.

I hope you understand.

Yea man, India counted every one of those billion heads.....

I mean, your population could be off by as much as a whole Pakistan or Bangladesh, and no one will even notice.
India way of GDP per capita:
Overstate the GDP
Understate the Population

Yet cannot understand why the poverty is still so high.

Because Bangladesh has better energy management policies in place. Whereas the Pakistanis are very wasteful. Anyway, I get the impression Pakistan has already realised much of its potential and growth rate will probably remain at current levels for a long time to come. Bangladesh is a relatively new country with a lot of political turmoil, undermining growth. As political uncertainties subside, growth will persist, not only that, it will grow. I can imagine the country attaining 10% growth when the world economy recovers further.

BD will increase in ICT sector, Textile, Leather, Manpower export, Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, Fisheries, Ship building, Electronics and other light Engineering. When the Padma Bridge and Chittagong 8 lane is completed they will atleast contribute 1-2% in GDP. By 2021 power generation will reach 20,000MW And by 2030 40,000 MW. They will also add 1-2% in GDP. China, Korea, Japan are already sending its works to BD and FDI of other countries. Even Pakistani, Indian and Srilankans are setting up factories in BD. So BD growth isnt gonna stop. We have only concern which is political turmoil. So far what BD achieved is by under performing, it can also grow at a rate of 10% too. We are greedy people :D

In Pak's case I wish it best. But with terrorism, lack of education and bad health care Pak's situation is worse. You may be have a good future in heavy industry but not in light sectors. So I dont know from where Pak's future growth will come.
