Bangladesh ‘owns’ hilsa fish

How can a state own a fish?

Like how or who came up with this.

How insecure can one get?

Well its consumed all over Orisa, WB and Bangladesh, so the affiliation is there in India as well - but we will give it to them, as it account for over 1 % of their GDP. They need that...

Man of humans are fighting for cow fish or chicken. Humans should probably call it a day and just mate with chimpanzees so that they can go a step back.

Atleast Pakistanis are just busy fighting over two 70 year olds politicians lol

I ate Hilsa quite a few times but didn't get what was the whole fuss about it. To me it felts like any bony thorny small fish but I respect the feelings of Bangla people and congratulate them on getting it GIed

Well why then the hilsa.

Japanese have the lead in fish. Any Japanese around here who can comment on its taste and behaviour.

I survived a conversation with a Japanese who told me how a person's favourite fish is the reflection of their character.

The world is sooooo big yet so simple lol

On a Basmati rice, to get a GI tag, Pakistan & India fought against each other.
Finally India won. Basmati heritage tag belongs to India ever since.

Lol

Yes. The name tag is yours.

But its the same with mangos.

Now it's a taste thing but i have never seen a foreigner praise the Indian mango or the rice if they know what they are talking about.

Your achievement is just mass production of the cheap kind.

Nods heads

Japanese are Tuna eaters and fish as far as west Africa. They have thousands of fishing trawlers with mother ships:

On mango also India has 9 variants, those that are enlisted in GI.
India has bigger territory.
This helps.

Yeah that is general knowledge. But what kind of fish.

Tuna is too generic.

Trust me Japanese have the lead.

The reason is because its an island. They had all the time in the world to study fish.

Reminds me. Sri Lankans can help with that.

Any Sri Lankans here. Never seen any
