Well, the government is legitimate per the constitution (through whatever means it's been changed). However, the government will lose its legitimacy after the elections since they have just abolished the voting rights of majority of the voters. So technically, if anyone has to oppose the government, he will have to wait till the elections, Army is just following this regulation.

How the heck is a report by IPCS(independent think tank) is an "official report by India". Its like saying a report by Stratfor, is an official report by the US government.

..so if army has some other plan for future, then it should not assist this illegal election and govt in the first place at least. Once election is over, the election can not be called illegal by army, as it would be already assisted by the same army......, and BAL will enjoy the power for eternal period.

I don't know , may be i am wrong...... but look at FBI... how they arrested that Bangladeshi guy?? They knew about his desire to bomb USA, but couldn't arrest him.... So they lured him to plant the fake bomb and then arrested him.... Its something like that......

this FBI type plan will not work for our army, by logic, as once army helps the govt in election means army complies with the govt. But if the army does not assist/involve the govt and remains silent, then the FBI type formula will work for them. I think.

FBI lured the boy being a non-FBI person, not being a FBI person, so army can't oppose the election once after helping the govt being army.

I don't know about IKB. But many of the senior army officers are Awami loyalists. This is already an open secret. So chances of a potential coup are reduced to null (at least from the AL perspective).

Though, I don't expect anything out of the army. I mean, in all these years, what has it achieved for our freedom and security? Not much, other than earning remittances from UN missions.

However, it did produce the biggest traitor in the history of modern Bangladesh - Gen. Moeen U. Ahmed. And there are more "Moeens" in there. Don't expect anything out of them.

Gen Suhrwardy recieved his bir bikram medal by getting shot in the *** while running away from shanti bahini, he has good connections with the local lt. colonel who recommended him for that award. Its a true story.
