Does this budget include also the procurement of hardware from foreign countries? I could not find any clue about it by reading the news.

LAST FY BUDGET WAS গতবছর সামরিক বাজেট ছিলUS $ 2.63 BILLION ২.

৫৯ বিলিয়ন বা OR 590 MILLION US $ INCREASED.

Please note that for the FY 2017-18,Defence Budget has been increased by UD$ 590 millions only, from that of last year.

Now as a simpleton, my question is,how will these expensive platforms be purchased, for the rapid modernization for the 3 services, utilizing this negligible increase? Are the cash deficit/stripped Russians willing to extend another G2G, soft loans to Bangladesh, in addition to the US $ 1 billion already committed and utilized mainly for the Air Force?
Anyone with adequate knowledge about economics, could perhaps enlighten us.

.
The budget amount is always used to for non-hardware purchases. This figure will go to maintenance, salary, benefits and other soft sections.

When it comes to hardware purchases of any sort, the govt. always allocates extra money and that does not come from the budget.

Hope that is clear now.

Yes I am completely aware how budgets are prepared, every penny/paisa comes from the budget.Governments always keeps an sufficient amount in the "Invisible Contingency" head. However, these allocations are specifically kept to meet emergency situations/unforeseen natural calamities.

The US$ 1 billion Russian loan was used for the purchase of Yak-130+other hardwares. The proposed Indian US $ 500 million, could perhaps, be utilised for procuring 8x Su 30 SME. Chinese G2G loans were used for purchasing various defence related hardwares.

Kindly note the huge foreign exchange earned by our Defence forces deployed in UN Peacekeeping Missions, could be dwindling rapidly, due to US reluctance to contribute.

Now kindly Mr. Economist reveal your Aladdin's Lamp.

.
As far as I know, the proclaimed defense budget does not include money for procurement from for foreign countries, and all or most of the hardware military purchases are categorized in the "Industrial Capital Goods."

The ONLY viable alternative for Bangladesh, is to request CHINA, to grant us another tranche of 3-4 Billion US$, as soft loans on G2G basis, that means procurement of CHINESE WEAPONS ONLY.:smitten::smitten::china::china:

Yep this looks like the way it is going.

Russia is cash strapped and is unlikely to want to upset India by supplying advanced arms to BD.

China does not care what India thinks and is able to supply advanced weapons on soft loans.

.
@Aung Zaya so our defence budget of this fiscal year is $3.2 Billion while your proposed defence budget is $2.1 billion :bunny:
