Indeed, in most Muslim countries and also non-Muslim South Asian countries, the general psyche is, if you dont agree with it, then crush it! Sometimes more subtle methods need to be used to persuade people who believe in different ideologies than you. Violent oppression might ensure short term domination, but in the long run you make the oppressed feel like they have nothing to lose. That's when things get really dangerous.
