Bangladesh Asia’s 2nd most gender equal country: World Economic Forum

We are talking about average of individual countries. Even among poor families in Bangladesh there is not more then 3 children now a days. It does not matter when they are married. After having 1st and 2nd child they stopped taking babies. As most of the woman works, they do not prefer more babies.

Have to rely on 3-millioner exposed lying govt on the macro data claims. Not interested. Not when BD in much richer and credible countries do much differently.

That's legal migration. Every year 500000- 1000000 people goes abroad legally.

LOL, are you telling me there is legal migration of BD ppl to India at 500,000 level scales in bloc of few years? Yeah right! India only allows expat professionals to migrate and live temporarily in India...BD may have just 1 or 2 in total lol.

I said all around the world. Who goes to India illegally except hindus illegally specially when both West Bengal and Assam are lagging behind Bangladesh economically.

Just for your info India is not even in the list....

Yup we prefer to do well in corruption perception index, institutional credibility indices first and foremost....rather than staying atrocious there and then putting out whatever garbage is needed to feel better.

Better to have worse development with good credibility than better development with bad credibility.....because truth is always better than untruth.

All other countries get this, but Bangladesh has an attitude problem from the onset of its formation obviously. It shows up all the more in full 3rd party neutral venue where nothing can be hidden/shielded. 0 medals in Asian games is one recent example. BD ppl socioeconomic performance in developed countries is another. Not to mention the energy they consume or the patents they file internationally. These are numbers that cannot be faked....and the dissonance they show with BD claimed development is astounding.....just like the household income reducing thanks to laundered inflation (whereas growth is claimed as x,y,z) as MA Taslim points out:

https://opinion.bdnews24.com/2017/12/18/where-did-the-benefits-of-economic-growth-disappear/

These are very long standing problems, and yet, very little has been done to improve the quality of the services provided by BBS.

The government is perhaps more worried about the embarrassment an efficient BBS can do to its image with correct data than the harm an inefficient BBS can inflict on policy making and, the economy with incorrect data.

Again sadly you are comparing a GDDS country (you) to SDDS one.

First achieve the same statistical standards before trying to compare who is lagging.

I wonder. is this equality a feature of poor countries or rich ones? the richest Asian countries couldn't even make into the top 10.

Its not about money, its about culture. The top 5 includes Singapore too, which is one of the richest in the region.

Bangladesh is notable for achieving incredible social development with a much smaller budget than neighbours.

We not only have better gender equality, we have a life expectancy over the world average, lowest infant mortality rates in the region, a lower birth rate and relatively higher literacy rate.

Stop spamming the forum with same info. Thanks for accepting India is not on the list. Now work hard to make sure India comes somewhere close to where Bangladesh and Philippines are now in regards to woman. If you do not like to believe the data of Bangladesh's improvement no one is forcing you on that. It is self evident in Bangladesh from woman's participation in workforce in RMG or in self initiated business due to the hard work of the NGOs and more woman's enrollment into school due to government initiatives taken from 1990s.

Regarding Bangladeshis living abroad, second generation and newly arrived immigrants are doing better. Significant of the earlier immigrants of 1970-2000 were less educated and went to western countries with asylum seeking or through their relatives. They worked hard to make their kids successful and they have achieved it. Now Bangladeshi communities are very strong and they are actively helping each other in the community for finding work, doing good in the business or for self development. Most of the recent immigrants are educated as a result they are doing good eventually.

Same thing as been told numerous time. Now do not post the same low income stat. It has been said as well many does not declare full income to get more benefits from the government.

If you are indeed living in Canada you should know what is cash income. If it is not declared to Government will it show into the stat? Most of the Taxi drivers for example do not show proper income so that they need to give less tax. This is true for many desi restaurants, barber shop, car repair, accountants, immigration consultants, house renovation contractors etc. Even some landlord does not declare full rental income. If you are not aware of it you are nothing but a morons. Income is hidden not only to give less tax but to get other benefit as well from Government due to low income.

Declared income 30000 dollar but making 50000-60000 dollar is comparable with someone making 80000-100k dollar income and paying tax on it.

Lol! I'm not your Adversary, or you meant Advisory? Anyway, I just gave my take on your women watching Indian serials, stop watching all serials spend time talking. I'm not saying adopt these to real life, or anything.
Well okay it was a misunderstanding then. I thought you were being sarcastic when said that ban them ( serials) all as they are bad.
But hm if you really mean it, and believe that those serials really responsible for family politics and other bad things then no disagreement.
Not all will be spoiled by those serials though, but few try to follow it and become spoiled.
As our ladies watches serials but as I replied to Imran Khan that mostly never follow it. But who try to do something what shown is serial indeed it's bad.
Thank you.

Read again

“Bangladesh has closed almost 72 percent of its overall gender gap, with advances in every aspect of the Economic Opportunity and Participation indicator,” it says.

Greater parity exists in the country’s Estimated Earned Income and Wage Equality for Similar Work indices

No one said other aspects haven't improved AS WELL.. But the fact remains 80% of the GDP is based in the RMG sector and nearly 80% of that workforce are women.. Can you prove otherwise ?

.
Lol who gives a sh!t?

Chinese are conquering the world economics and uplifting entire human generation out of poverty...and they are lagging far behind Bangladesh in this list. Tells you all you need to know:lol:

Women should be empowered economically BUT not on the model of West. That will only lead to social destruction over time. Local culture and especially Islamic values and norms should be at forefront of organizing society and gender interaction/distribution when it comes to economy, politics, law etc.

Otherwise, we all know how Hasina Wajid made Bangladesh a little b!tch of india and imposed secularism on Islamic masses forcefully just for her own seat.

. . .
What's the source of this 'fact'? Forum posts?

Ready made Garments (RMG) is a great prospect for the Bangladesh Economy especially in Exporting. Almost 80% of total export covers from this Sector. RMG impact a lot in the economy of Bangladesh such as contribution a large portion in the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) , Contribution to the GNP (Gross national Product), Economic Empowerment especially for Women because 80% of The Garments Worker are Women.
