Police have arrested an army officer with 51 bottles of Phensidyl in Jamalpur.

Two other persons accompanying him were also arrested from a private car on the Roumari-Dhaka road in Bakshiganj early on Thursday, police said.

The arrested army officer was identified as Major Imtiaz Nasim. He is stationed at the Chittagong cantonment.

Maj Nasim was handed over to senior army officers, said Bakshiganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Nurul Islam.

Two others arrested were identified as 'Mamun' and Abu Sayeed. Police filed a case against the two under Narcotics Control Act, said Islam.

Police stopped the car heading for Mymensingh around 3.30am and found Phensidyl bottles inside it, the police officer said.

Nasim is now on leave.

After failing to secure their wives and daughters in the Pilkhana massacre and saving the country from Bharti malaun aggression it appears they have resorted to drug running.

Thanks for posting that, that is what happened when Awami League takes army to the path of destruction while running deception gimmick of "arms purchase" for few gullible often running their big mouth here and elsewhere in the net.

A lone junior officer on leave involve din a case of carrying drugs doesn't mean BA is in drug trade. This caption is misleading/mischievous and could only be an attempt to malign BA.

This army stopped practicing war games with India and has lt. generals like Surwardy. This army has become impotent, useless and lazy. It is more interested in making money than defending Bangladesh....mercenary missions in Africa, shena kallan, now folks getting caught with phensidyl and not to forget the filmmaking making business starring Reshma In Rana Plaza.

with all due respect BA officers getting caught like this is not at all common. i am just not used to seeing BA in this light. the title is more rhetorical i guess

Bangladesh is aggressively competing with Pakistan in all areas.

If they are exporting drugs to India like ISI do to increase revenue for Nuke development then its all good. But if its for domestic market then it comes under treason.

Well don't just blame ISI, Indian users of our drugs also help fund Nuclear Development.
