Bangaldeshi Armoured Corps: MBTs

I think you need to study a detailed map, instead of speaking in woolly generalities. I am sorry, but you really lack knowledge and understanding. The locals had a method of trade which you obviously know nothing about, although a native of Bangladesh would have had a live example to study in his Chittagong Hill Tracts. That would have informed you clearly that your deduction was on the wrong facts and on very poor knowledge.

Your strategic thoughts are not particularly more elevated than can be found in the columns of a daily newspaper. Let me tell you bluntly that it is clear from this engagement that you have nothing to contribute to a discussion on military matters; it was clear from your grossly offensive posts on the Dhaka massacre that you are unfit for decent human society.

I am putting you on my ignore list, with great pleasure. Never thought the day would come when I should do so to someone who had served, but you have earned it fully.

Many thanks. Good riddance to bad rubbish which your posts generally contain.

Again Burma is not a threat due to natural geography. The only viable battle with burma will be naval battle

What happened to the big armoured push to liberate Arakan? Is that still going to happen then, iadjani?

Bengali stop stealing our history, Bengal Army regiment recruited purely from upper caste Biharis and Awadhis.
GuRFvLv.jpg

In those days UP and Bihar was under Bengal presidency but they weren't racially Bengali. Nobody recruited Bengali soldiers.

Stop lying, Bengal Army was Bihari and UP soldiers and they were the ones who took part in the mutiny. Mangal Pandey, Bakht Khan etc were all Bihari and UP soldiers. Nobody recruited ugly Bengalis.
This is straight from British gazetteer, it was Bihari and Awadhi people who rebelled:

Look at how these Bangladeshis are shamelessly stealing the contribution of high caste Awadhis and Biharis in the British army and claiming it as there own.

Before quoting again, better do a focking research. I wasn't even talking about Bengal army, I was talking about 49th Bengalis who were deployed in WW1 and other Bengali units or Bengalis who served different British units during WW2. We aren't even interested in what your non Bengali units have done for Bengal army.

. As a consequence, it was necessary to raise a regiment in the east; so two companies of Bengali pioneers from the Bihar Regiment were regimented into the 1st Battalion, East Bengal Regiment Senior Tigers under Lieutenant Colonel Patterson as Commanding Officer (C.O.) and Major Abdul Waheed Choudhury as Officer Commanding (O.C.) Training Coy., with the 2nd Battalion being formed soon after.......

Re quoting again:

Quotes from Origins of the Bangladesh Army (Book): British historian Andrew Mollo gave the following percentage in his book 'The Armed Forces of World War II : Punjab 50 %, United Provinces 15 %, Madras 10 %, Bombay 10%, NW Frontier Province 5 %, Ajmere and Merwara 3%, Bengal 2% and Central Provinces 5%."

There were 170000 Bengali soldiers in the British Indian Army during the Second World War (Source: Colonel Brian Cloughley " A History of the Pakistan Army (Second edition, page 141). It was also mentioned in Asian Foundation History of Bangladesh series.

MAG Osmani, served Duke of Wellington's Regiment during WW2

how to do a screen shot

Major General Ishfaqul Majid, the most senior Bengali general during pre 71 era, served Royal Licolnshire Regiment (2nd Battalion), 4/19 Hydrabad Regiment (Today's Kumaon Regiment) during WW2.

These are some of the many examples of ethnic Bengalis serving British army during Raj era.

Now before commenting, i would expect people to read.

Oh so you're talking about WW2, that's fine. It's the other guy who was talking about Bengal Army and 1857 and mistaking them for Bengalis.
Who care whether british recruited Bengali in army hundred years ago? British rewarded those who sucked their ball most eagerly.Bengalis were more inclined to kick out british from this country.

. .
No they weren't, Bengalis never rebelled against the British.
shanosshi bidroho, neel bidroho all were started by Bengalis before 1857. these things blow up finally in 1857.

the biggest icon of Indian nationalism Suvash chandra Bose is a Bengali.

When forces plan 2030 is completed, will India dare risk
destruction of a large part of their military to attack
BD?

"Large"? Define "Large"?

The main deterrence from Bangladesh has always been its population density and poverty. We do not need another UP to be saddled with, that too smaller and even more squished up.

Your military does not add much deterrence and never will....maybe by 2050 it might...but I suspect our countries will be quite integrated economically by then anyway.

Say 30% for starters.

Poverty?
Once BD starts using the same base year as India, then we can say that GDP/Capita will equal.

Anyway, how long before India inevitable disintegrates as all multi-ethnic states like India have done in history in your opinion?

This fellow openly said the Gulshan attackers are justified in what they did because the youth of Bangaldesh must rise up against the BAL/Bangladesh govt/Indian govt and that such incidents are a natural "enlightened resistance".

There is not much more to be said about him really. It is unfortunate what he has turned into.

Say 30% for starters.

More like 3% and thats being generous. You are no Pakistan which 30%+ level applies to.

Poverty?

Yes state base year effect without understanding how it works. Did you know many countries have seen their GDP shrink from updating their base year as well? National GDP per capita (even if PPP) only has a marginal effect in correlating with poverty rate anyway....that is more linked to median income and wealth in rural areas and survey based consumption numbers...which show Bangladesh to be far behind India in the latest world bank studies.

Anyway, how long before India inevitable disintegrates as all multi-ethnic states like India have done in history in your opinion?

Much after Bangladesh and Pakistan are destroyed completely in political terms. If that doesn't happen (since you both are significantly institutionally weaker than India)...you can forget about the same happening for India.....but you are welcome to keep dreaming.

Get your fundamentals correct. The Sannyasi Bidroho was a communal attack by arch-Hindus against Muslims, certainly not a patriotic Indians-against-the-British move. It was not much of an insurrection, as records - and the novel about it - will show.

The Neel Bidroho was remarkably non-violent, and did not alarm anyone, least of all the planters.

None of this connected into 1857. Bengal was remarkably peaceful in 1857.

As for Subhash, the less said the better. This is the first I learnt that he was the biggest icon of Indian nationalism.

The whole family is nuts, and Krishna Bose's children are the nuttiest. One of them, the daughter, is Sarmila Bose, who is convinced that there were more Bangladeshis after the Pakistan Army crackdown than before. Another, one of her two sons, is convinced that there were more Kashmiris twenty years ago than there are now, and the rest were slaughtered. The remaining son has put a drunken burnt-out case in as head of department of history at Presidency Univ., just because that lush was his partner's PhD student.

@Nilgiri:

Yes you are a genius if you think an actual nation state like BD will
disintegrate before the mess that makes up India.

Muslims were are part of that rebellion....they were called fakirs...and they were against the company because the company started taxing them and infringed on their right to bear arms....where did you get your narrative from?

. .
@Nilgiri

I am not sure whether you are stupid or trolling here.

BD is a real nation as in it is composed of an overwhelming single dominant ethnicity and which is also around
90% Muslim at the same time. There will never be any demand for independence as there are no fault lines
in the population.

India is just a made up artificial state who cannot even define the reason for it's existence. Like all
multi-ethnice states it will disintegrate. I predict it won't even get to 100 years in 2047 before at least
some part of it has broken away. This the very nature of how humans behave and nothing can be done
to stop it.
