What's new

Bahawalpur Solar Park will be world's largest

First phase will be online in August Insha'Allah according to the report. Let's wait and see.

. . . . .
Bhawalpur Solar Park will be world's largest and then PMLN puts a ban on anymore solar and wind parks in the country..... in the end there will be only Punjab, however, it will won't be in Pakistan anymore!

Are you one of the Pashtunistan lovers on here??? Punjab did a LOT of work to get so much investment. If your beloved KPK's leaders had cared to do hard work, instead of stupid money, lives and time wasting "sit ins", I am sure they would be building many of these large projects by now too!!! Its leaders that take a country forward!

I keep reading about the Pakistan energy problem so why would you want to go for solar???

-costly compared to coal/natural gas
-low efficiency (20%)
-no energy produced at night

why isn't Pakistan getting China to invest in building some coal plants??

seems like the real winners are the Chinese solar company on this deal :tsk:

''It is expected to generate 1.271 billion kilowatt-hours (kwh) of electricity annually, greatly easing power shortages in Punjab and neighbouring areas.''

So 1.27 billon units per year? actually not that much........
compared to Topaz which generated 1.05 TW/H in 2014 with just 550MW that isn't good :o:
Topaz Solar Farm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
so averaged 125 megawatts out of the 550 megawatts so a 22% efficiency :hitwall: so bhawalpur will average worse.

I know right, people always talk about 1000mw but whats the point if actual electricity generated will be just 1.2 billion units per year? Now I wonder how much 1 coal power plant of 660mw will generate per year. Neelum jhelum dam 969mw which should be completed by next year will generare 5.15 billion units per year.

yes thank you from saving me from typing that. We need to move away from renewable and go for coal and hydel as a mixture till we can over come load shedding. But with the number of delays in the Neelum Jhelum dam it should have been done by this year or earlier if i recall correctly. If you notice billions of dollars of investment and no movement in action towards Basha dam... only more and more ground breaking ceremonies.

No he blames one province for the incompetency of others.

P.S I am urdu speaker from Karachi and have no links with Punjab but I am rational. Always remember God helps those who helps themselves. The rulers of KPK, Balochistan and Sindh have given nothing to do their people so why should Punjab bares the consequences.

Atleast Punjabi rulers are sincere to their province. Now suck it up like a man and don't behave like a jealous bitch from KPK. I voted for PTI last time around but seriously I am thinking to vote some one else next time around. That retard Khattak last year even didn't bothered to visit China just because he can enjoy Imran Khan's dharna concert ...just depicts how much KPK rulers are serious with their province when it comes to development.

Hydroelectric power is fine but with electricity that is produced from coal you also get one more thing and free of charge, that is environmental pollution and the result of that is all sorts of pulmonary disorders and cancers. You should know that China is no longer building coal power projects and trying to minimize those that are already working. At this point of time, it is relatively expensive to produce electricity from renewable sources but I would rather go for expensive and cleaner electricity than spending most of my money in medical bills.

Coal reserves in Sindh are pretty isolated and away from the population and more importantly we need to get ourselves reminded that we ain't living in Europe to have luxuries solutions. Wished we could had built KalaBagh and Bhasa Dam.

He is a troll. He's pointed out ONLY NS's "stupidity" so far. And he has an issue with Punjab and NS. If he cared about "his country" so much, trust me, he should be coloring pages black on here with ink, trying to talk about other states such as KPK above all, not doing jack shiit for its people, compared to Punjab and Baluchistan.

If you truly want to grow as a nation, and you see someone doing that who you don't like (NS in this case), you ignore your personal issues and you appreciate whatever good work someone's done for the country. THAT is missing. You people go so blind on personal associations that you put your country second or third on the list and your personal affiliations on top!! There is no such thing as team work in Pakistani people. An Indian friend told me that long time ago and I was a little surprised. Then I heard it from many Pakistani-Americans themselves and it started to click since I started to come on here.

You guys need to learn to put your country on top of the list!!
