Too early to talk about single engine fighter i think as we haven't finalized the twin-engine MRCA yet. Well, western aircraft will sure give us an edge against any Russian-Chinese aircraft operational in neighboring countries, opportunities to train with more foreign air forces to gain better and more experiences and path for buying next generation aircraft.
But i won't choose another western aircraft if we buy EFT, specially i would stay away from the ones with American string attached. Too costly to have two western platforms. Also BAF shouldn't be fully westernized as it's certainly not a good idea to put all eggs in one basket. I thought we learned that from Rohingya issue. Though i doubt GoB learned anything at all.
Unfortunately i still can't dismiss your suggestion about Gripen as we don't know how good the J-10 is and about it's engine issue. Don't know what BAF found during inspection in 2018 but i hope J-10C will come without any issue with local MRO option. That will help BAF to maintain a balanced fleet consisting of Western and Chinese fighter.
If that doesn't happen then Gripen is only good option left aside from F-16. Asking for 3-4 squadron is also too much as some people say here BAF lack vision. Honestly i don't GoB has any vision for BAF or having credible air defense like it has for the navy at the moment. BTW am i seeing this right or did Thailand, Brazil really paid $151-83 million for each of their Gripen?

What frustration and anger? Apart from 1971 there's nothing to be angry or frustrated about Pakistan. Even that part is closed after you apologized. Military procurement isn't involved with people's personal life now, is it? Anyone can get married and have child within four years. People should check how much times it take for other countries. Lets not hope BAF buys MRCA when you have grandchild.
