BAF hopes to achieve Air Superiority with new fighter jets from China

Bangladesh Air Force is all set to welcome a new squadron of fighter jets from China, and its young officers are more than delighted to get their hands on the new machines. These new fighters when inducted will be the second most sophisticated fighter jets in the BAF inventory, only after the famed MiG-29 bought from Russia during the later 90's. F-7BGIs as they are known, are the most sophisticated F-7s manufactured by China till date. F-7, or J-7 is the Chinese copy of the popular MiG-21 fighter aircraft manufactured by the Soviet Union.
The Squadron which is to get them, the "Thundercats" almost bears a festive look with hectic preparations underway to welcome these birds into their fold. "We are happy to receive them. These are multirole fighters which can do both Air to Air and Air to Ground attacks. Although it doesn't posses BVR capability of other fighters operating in our neighborhood, these will come equipped with advanced jammers which will cancel the BVR capabilities of our adversary jets and force them into a dogfight where it will easily shoot them down. All in all it is THE jet to have". claims one fighter jockey from the squadron. These new jets of the BAF will be flown in a flypast during the Victory Day celebrations.
