I have seen a thread talk about Babur's self hating(and the thread is closed),while the poster misunderstand what Babur said.Babur was Chagatai, the term Moghul refer to the people of Moghulistan(northern Xinjiang),led by doglat tribe. The Moghuls still kept nomadic lifestyle and keep traditions in Babur's time, they are muslims just in name only,in fact they follow the traditional steppe law,not the islamic sharia law. While the Chagatais lived in modern Uzbekistan, they adopted the local culture, they look down on Moghuls, the Moghuls look down on Chagatais too.

Anyone who wishes to talk about Babar must first read his autobiography, 'Tuzk-e-Babri'. There are a lot of people with plenty of motivation to link myths, lies, and misrepresentations about him. He was a smart & interesting person with a lot of ambition - he was no angel and neither a demon.

The Kazakhs and Kyrghizs are not serious of Islam just like Moghuls, they obey the nomadic law in historical time, they drink alcohol, unlike the Uyghurs and Uzbeks are devout Muslims

Its true, I know Kazakh and Kyrgyz people to some extent, I visited these countries a few times and have some friends. The irony is that nomadic Turko-Mongols once they converted to Islam, conquered many lands and many local population converted to Islam because of their rule. It is just the nature of their culture, sedentary and nomadic that makes their character different. Babur was alcoholic and had many other vices, same with earlier turko-mongol warriors/rulers that came to India, but it is because of them and their actions you have 500 million Muslims in South Asia. Sedentary population live in close quarters, go to mosque together and eventually they become more devout, while nomadics live freely in felt tents in the steppe and retain more of their original pre-Islam culture. Timurids and Mughals of India were following Yassa even after they converted to Islam for many centuries:

Uighurs used to be mostly Buddhist, it was these Moghul rulers, not Karakhan before them, that forcibly converted remaining Buddhist Uighurs to Islam, I read somewhere, but @Wholegrain probably can tell us more precisely:

Under the Chagatay Khanate's rule in East Turkestan/Uyghurstan, the culture of the Karakhanids (Uyghurs) dominated the largely Muslim state, and the Buddhist populations of the former Karakhoja(Uyghurs) Idikut-ate largely converted to the Muslim faith. All Chagatai-speaking Muslims, regardless whether they lived in Turpan or Kashgar, became known by their occupations as Moghols (ruling class), Sarts (merchants and townspeople) and Taranchis (farmers). This triple division of classes among the same Muslim Turkic folk also existed in Transoxiana, regardless whether they were under Timurid or Chagatay, the sense of ethnic kinship between the modern Uyghur and Uzbek peoples remain strong until today.

The conquered will cook their own stories to distance themselves from their own weaknesses to be conquered in the first place.

Most modern Uyghurs are not descended from ancient Uyghurs. Most modern Uyghurs, especially those in altishahr (Kashgar, Aksu, Khotan) are descended from Karluk Turks.

The Karluk Turks founded the Kara-Khanid Khanate and converted to Islam in the 10th century. Mahmud Kashgari lived in the Kara Khanid Khanate. The Karluks were the ancestors of the Uyghurs and Uzbeks, and ruled transoxania and the Tarim Basin. Their language belongs to the Karluk branch of Turkic languages. They then became part of the Chagatai Khanate and their language became known as Chagatai Turkic. It split into western and eastern branches, western Chagatai Turkic became Uzbek and Eastern became modern Uyghur language.

The people of Kashgar were not Uighurs but Qarluks (karluks), Koprulu corrected the misconception that they were uyghurs.

Ancient Uyghurs spoke a different branch of Turkic languages, they founded the Uyghur Khaganate. They converted to Manicaheaism and Buddhism and settled in Turfan and Gansu province in China. The modern Yugurs are their descendants and they are still Buddhist and they still live in Gansu. They speak Yugur and its a different branch of Turkic from modern Uyghur (which is karluk descended)

Some of the ancient Uyghurs in Turfan got forcefully converted by the Karluks are became assimilated to the Uyghurs, they are only a minor part of the modern Uyghur population.

The Soviet Union held a conference at Tashkent in 1921, they stole the name "Uyghur" from the ancient Uyghur Khaganate and gave it to the sedentary Turkic speaking Muslims in the Tarim Basin, and they became modern uyghurs.

The Mughal Empire (also Mog(h)ul, Persian: گُورکانِیان‎ Gūrkāniyān;[4] Urdu: مُغلِیَہ سَلطَنَت‎, Muġliyah Salṭanat,[5]) was an Persianate[6][7] empire extending over large parts of the Indian subcontinent ruled by Cagatay Turks.

They used the Persian Lion and Kurdish sun disk in there banners..
