দিনাজপুরে যানবাহনে পেট্রলবোমা ছুড়তে গিয়ে হাতেনাতে ধরা পড়েছেন ছাত্রলীগের দুই নেতা। তারা হচ্ছেন নবাবগঞ্জ উপজেলার পুটিমারা ইউনিয়ন ছাত্রলীগের সেক্রেটারি উজ্জ্বল ও স্থানীয় ছাত্রলীগ নেতা জোবায়ের। পরে আওয়ামী নেতাদের তদবিরে তাদের ছেড়ে দেয়া হয়।

গত শুক্রবার রাত ১২টায় দিনাজপুর-ঢাকা মহাসড়কের মতিহারা বাজারে একদল তরুণ যানবাহন ল্য করে পেট্রলবোমা ছোড়ে। এতে কেউ হতাহত না হলেও স্থানীয় কর্তব্যরত পুলিশ পেট্রলবোমাসহ হাতেনাতে ধরে ফেলে দু’জনকে। বাকিরা পালিয়ে যায়।


গতকাল সকালে নবাবগঞ্জ থানায় যোগাযোগ করা হলে পুলিশ প্রথমে আটকদের নাম প্রকাশ করতে অস্বীকার করে। পরে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে অবৈধ মোটরসাইকেল ব্যবহার করার অপরাধে মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি নেয়ার কথা বলা হয়। পরে তাদের ছেড়ে দেয়া হয়।

স্থানীয় আওয়ামী লীগ নেতাদের তদবিরে তাদের ছেড়ে দেয়া হয় বলে জানা গেছে। এ দিকে মতিহারা বাজারের যে স্থানে পেট্রলবোমা ছুড়তে গিয়ে দু’জনকে আটকের পর ছেড়ে দেয়ার কয়েক ঘণ্টা পর ওই স্থানের একটি দোকানের পেছন থেকে আরো তিনটি পেট্রলবোমা পুলিশ উদ্ধার করেছে।
