Bluesky I'm assuming you're fluent in Nihongo?

I've been using the Genki Textbook for some time now.
Writing is the most difficult part of the Japanese language , reading a little easier and speaking is much easier. After saying so, I must admit this language is very difficult to study or memorize by foreigners. So, it is same with me.

I know only one person who really mastered it. Others cannot unless he/she is born and brought up in Japan. He is Dr. Moazzem Hussain, BUET teacher who did his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph. D in Shipbuilding Engineering here. He came here immediately after his HSC. He even found fault with his Japanese colleagues' written Kanji.

In my case, I arrived in Japan on 13 October and in November, I had the opportunity to visit many beautiful places like Aki no Miyajima in Hiroshima, Himeji Castle, Osaka Castle, Kobe and Kyoto, the old Capital of Japan.

Anyway, I fell for Japanese natural beauties that change in the four seasons of the year. In the Autumn, the tree leaves start turning red, then to yellow/brown, and then fall on the ground and most trees become bald without leaves in Winter.

Yeah, I've learned Hiragana and Katakana years ago. I've stopped learning the language for some years due to Kanji, but decided to pick it up again a few months ago. I'm only planning to learn the "Joyo Kanji" (2000+ characters, Highschool level). Grammar is pretty easy for me if I look from the Bengali perspective since both Bangla and Japanese are SOV (as opposed to SVO English). I'm memorizing the top 6000 words, and building up immersion through media (which I have experience of 2 decades) and talking to native speakers. Also plan to study Korean afterwards (pretty much identical grammar). I did plan a couple years ago to teach English as part of the JET Program once I graduate university, but I feel visiting as a tourist would probably be a nicer experience. Most Bangladeshis in Japan are actually quite proficient at the language. I've met quite a few who immigrated to Canada from there that still speak to their kids or spouses in Japanese, and there are even some that don't speak Bangla at all.

Beautiful, did you took the photo yourself.

Just curious when the road could have been build in straight line, why did japanese made it zig zag ? Its not such a steep surface, zig zag is required only on steep surface.

Last year oct i was in Japan on a holiday. Enjoyed my trip.
Polite cultured people. But i have a query.
In tokyo the service people and ppl in general i interacted with bowed a lot but in Kyoto not many were bowing. Is it a regional thing ?

OK. I will try to send many more seasonal pictures. Now, it is autumn. The tree leaves will turn red to yellow/brown. The entire mountains will look as if they are burning but with three different contrasts of colors- green, red, and yellow/brown.

Most of Japan except city areas are mountainous. However, all the cities and towns are also hilly and dotted with maple and other trees. Maple leaves turn reddish in autumn. Metropolitan Tokyo has probably a few thousand such gardens and parks - all with many trees and well kept.

Natural beauty is bountiful in Japan and it is fascinating and I want to post a few more photographs. But, I am real busy.

I am surprised to hear that you did not find many people in Kyoto do not bow that much. But, in reality it is impolite not to bow correctly in the Japanese society. It is greeting to others and not that higher people do not bow to low income people. The higher guy will then be criticized as very impolite not knowing the proper manners.

No, it was from a recent newspaper. I have long stopped taking pictures. I used to do so when I first came to Japan. Every Sunday we would visit some beautiful places in Kyoto, Kobe or Nara taking snaps here and there. All were color photos most of which were projector photography.

Enjoy these pictures of Autumn in Japan. Note the wooden bridge over a small river. All of these bridges are painted reddish to match with the surrounding during autumn. These small bridges are all arched. I have never seen a concrete or steel bridge unless not for use for motorized vehicles or railway.
