Kanas Lake & Hemu Village
Near the border of Kirgistan, Mongolia and Russia, is the wonderful Kanas Lake in north Xinjiang is where the Tuwa minority lives.

Surrounded by snow-capped mountains that are reflected on the water, in autumn the long bean-shaped lake presents a pretty landscape of forests in all imaginable colors. The name Kanasi Hu means "beautiful, rich and mysterious" in Mongolian and if one sees it changing the colors several times each day, he will understand why.

On the south bank of the lake lives the Mongolian tribe Tuwa. This valiant ethnic minority believes in Lamaism and has a long history and special folk customs.

Hemu Village
It has been ranked by China National Geography as one of the six most beautiful villages in China.

This autumn, tourists and shutterbugs have flocked to the red lands in Kunming, Yunnan province to capture the area's breathtaking scenery. Dongchuan Red Land is the most typical and characteristic red land area on the Yunnan Laterite Plateau. The site has been called “a palette left by God,” with some comparing the area's magnificence and grandeur to that of the red lands in Rio de Janeiro. The best time to capture the natural beauty is between September and December.

Bohu County, Xinjiang Region

Bohu County is in the Xinjiang Region and is under the administration of the Bayin'gholin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. It contains an area of 3,603 km2. According to the 2002 census, it has a population of 60,000.

The area was first populated by Khoshut Mongolians who settled by the Bosten Lake (博斯騰湖; Bósīténg Hú). The county is named Bohu, an abbreviation of Bosten Lake.

The highway to Heishui County is very congested now.....
Self-driving is popular in Northern Sichuan.

Nearby Songpan County is also very charming, the gateway to many tourist attractions there including Jiuzhaigou.

Located on the western edge of the Sichuan Plain, Baoxing County is an important ecological area on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It covers 3,114 square kilometers, 99.7 percent of which is mountainous and 75 percent of which belongs to the core area for the protection of pandas.

Been there...but not in autumn.....

It's on the great circle of Jiuzhaigou.
