Austria,just like Germany has a problem with religious extremism just that their law enforcement agencies have thus far managed to prevent attacks.They did operate arrests though in the last years.And yes,my point stands,we're talking about current events affecting some countries not what a nutjob did in Uganda.

Your entire point falls flat on its face. Austria has made arrests, but they have been few and far between, as Austria hasn't had to deal with any major terror threat. Your point was a blanket statement, as you did not mention any particular nation in your comment, don't pretend otherwise. Even the rise of far right groups, and the rise of violence against immigrant groups is evidence of just how poor you argument is.

Thank you for giving the last word,i will use it to ask you again to stay on topic and by doing that pls povide proofs that other religious cults are affected by extremism in today's Austria-with links showing for example churches being used for recruitment of terrorists..You are free to open another topic and talk about christian extremists in Uganda.

I fear that you won't have such proofs and so you choose to extract yourself from this debate.

100% agree with the new legislation. I hope we get something like this in UK which bans foreign funded Mosques specially from Qatar, UAE and KSA.

Btw,for those who see this law as an attack on muslims.

The legislation also provides for Muslims to be able to consult Islamic clerics on the staffs of hospitals, retirement homes, prisons and in the armed forces.

Muslims in Austria will also have the right to halal meals in those institutions as well as in public schools, and will be allowed to skip work on Islamic holidays.

Basically the law only tries to further integrate muslims in the Austrian society,it's a [positive development.

By all means investigate thoroughly from which countries funding is coming from and for what purpose but to all out ban for Islam specifically is discriminatory and won't hold in the courts. Turkish and Bosnian mosques are some of the most peaceful mosques (I regularly attended three different turkish mosques and occasionally one bosnian mosque when I lived in Sweden and I never remember there being khutbas on jihad. The imams used to come from Turkey directly and had to be approved by their religious authorities).

In contrast what this austrian move will encourage is small neighbourhood mosques which are much harder to monitor by the government and where extremist mullahs can preach without that greater risk of being caught out in bigger mosques. Think of it as kind of a black market Whose emergence this government move is greatly encouraging.

This is good development. Looks like Europe is finally waking up to the dangers of stealth jihad by islamic suprimofascists. Maybe Europe can be saved after all and its still not too late before Europe become Eurabia.

I agree that Turkish imams are a stabilising,positive presence.Turks are at the forefront of fighting extremism in Germany from what i've seen in there.Many cultural/rehabilitation centers against extremism are ran by Turks,or better said Germans of Turkish ethnicity,well integrated people in the society.That being said i see no harm if the Austrian state wants to have a direct approach in handling a volatile situation and due to Erdogan's policies some even begun to doubt even Turkey's stance.

Other followers don't commit terrorist attacks in the name of their religion.Equality must come from respecting the laws first .If catholics would take hostages in the name of God,His Son and the Holy Spirit it would have been wise to ban funds from the Vatican.As they don't do that,the discussion is moot.You're only handling a problem where such a problem exists,you're not doing it just not to hurt feelings.People have to be practical and in the end why should others suffer when only one is causing problems ?
