Audi AG expresses intent to assemble vehicles in Pakistan

ive seen Lexus and Land Cruisers roaming around in Gujrat, Pakistan during my last visit and mind you Gujrat is not considered a big city, so yeah people in Pak can afford AUDI.....
Thank you for pointing that out, Im from Jhelum side and many people in my area are easily able to afford an audi.

Well it is not about the matter of price, Honda booked 10,000 cars within 10 days of the launch of the new civic model with an average on road cost of around 3 million. If you can get an audi A3/A4 for the same price(or even 3-4 lac more), imagine the possibilities. I rate even the basic A3 much higher than Honda Civic.

AUDI, for general public ??? LOL :rofl::rofl:

But yes, investment in any form will surely create more jobs and always good for economy. :enjoy:

Get a life dude. It's not a defense deal where TOT can be made, a country will provide them with the incentives and they will setup their factory and produce cars there. No one will transfer their patented core technology. Apart from that I guess everyone know how a car is manufactured. :)

In Pakistan Honda Civic Cost 3 Million Rupees and Audi A3 Cost 3.5 Million rupees there are many many Audi's now in Islamabad and Lahore Specially A3 A4 and A6 roaming around

After they set up their Assembly plant Price of A3 will obviously comes down to 3 Million PKR and will sell like hot cakes

The A3 starts at $31,000 in the USA and the A4 starts $34,000, so if Pakistan is producing the cars domestically, then can enjoy similar prices. And those who think people in PK can't afford these than they are simply dumb.

Did you even read the OP? the production will be taking place in PK!!!

I guess it will be well above PKR 50 Lac's. If you read the OP again, they will simply have an assembly unit (just as they do in India) which means almost all important parts would be imported rather than produced locally, which in turn will attract additional duty for sure. :(

But sir, I can see that the price for used Audi's are well over 30 Lacs atm. :(

So I guess the price within the range of PKR 45 - 65 Lacs. What do you think ?? :)

Exactly, I don't know why its so hard for people to digest that Pakistanis can afford an Audi, very simple.

And how many Audis are sold in Pakistan each year?

Actually how many 4-wheelers private vehicles are sold in Pakistan in total each year?

That's a whooping 1.3 Million (i.e. 13 lac rupee) difference. What is there to laugh ??

Well I don't think 1.3 Million is a small amount, do you ?? :D

The OP is saying that Audi is pondering the possibility of assembling in Pakistan, so asking how many Audis people are buying now won't do justice to the debate. As for how many cars sold in PK, @Muhammad Omar has explained it in the quote below. and here is something also to look at.
