LAHORE: Attempts will be made to set 15 new records for the Guinness Book of World Records in the Punjab Youth Festival-2014 at the Gymnasium Hall in the Nishtar Sports Complex on Wednesday (today).

The Punjab Sports Board plans to set 100 new Guinness World Records during the festival this year. It has already set a world record of forming the biggest national human flag at the National Hockey Stadium last week. It, however, failed to establish two more on Monday as it deferred the recital of national anthem with most people and waiving the national flag with most people. The event was postponed at the eleventh hour, mainly due to security reasons. Millions of rupees were spent on the arrangements.

On Wednesday, the records being attempted are: doing most push-ups with one arm carrying a 40lb pack; five people controlling the heaviest weight with nails in a most layered bed of nails sandwich (one inch); to crack the maximum walnuts against the head in one minute; doing the most number of kip ups in one minute; most push-ups using back of hands in one minute; doing the most push-ups using back of hands carrying a 40lb pack in one minute; smashing the most walnuts with a nunchaku in one minute; doing the most push-ups using the back of hands, carrying a 60 lb pack in one minute; doing the most push-ups in one minute with a 40 lb pack; doing the most push-ups in 24 hours; doing the most pull-ups in 24 hours; doing the most push-ups in one hour; doing the most push-ups on the back of hands in one hour; doing the most push-ups in 12 hours, and doing the most pull-ups in 12 hours. The programme will begin at 8am to be continued late night.
