Attack on Hindus: India takes up issue with Bangladesh
Spl Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Feb 8 - Confirming that Hindu minorities have been targeted in neighbouring Bangladesh, the Centre on Wednesday clarified that it has taken up the issue with the Government of Bangladesh.

Minister of State for External Affairs Gen (retd) Dr VK Singh in a Lok Sabha reply said that sporadic incidents of violence against members of the minority community and on their properties and places of worship have been reported in Bangladesh.

The Government of India closely monitors incidents targeting the religious, socioeconomic and political freedom and general well being of minorities, including Hindus, in Bangladesh. India’s concerns and sensitivities with regard to such incidents have been conveyed to the Bangladesh Government.

The primary responsibility for the protection of life, liberty and property of all citizens of Bangladesh, including minorities, rests with the Government of Bangladesh. The Government of Bangladesh has made it clear that it takes these attacks very seriously and that stern action would be taken against the perpetrators.

India has no business in how hindus are treated in bangladesh. Either they should give them asylum in India or simply shut up.
They are better off saving Indian citizens slaving in gulf of other countries rather than bothering about other ppl.

I believe we should listen carefully and at the same time - convey our concerns about ill treatment of Muslims in various areas in India.

I think this is a populist political ploy meant for local consumption in India.

Rightly said. It is non of our business. And it is normal tradition in every Islamic country.

Indian concern could have taken gracefully if they showed this concern irrespective of creed, color, ethnicity.Another Indian neighboring country, Myanmar is committing horrible atrocity against Rohingya people, but we have not seen an iota of concern from the Indian establishment. So how can we take this seriously?

While on one hand, Bangladesh does need a more inclusive and secular constitution, India or Pakistan have no business in internal issues of Bangladesh. But, we do need to reform our society to hold religion on a more personal basis rather than it being politically used as a weapon.

What do they think of BD Muslim folks??? They were the forerunners in the establishment of Pak for they badly wanted to get out of the overwhelming Hindu domination. They took care of Ebu Gadder Mujib within a remarkably short period of time of 3 years. For others even a hundred years isn't enough. And, how they showed that proxy traitor his place!!!! Not even his minor kid or pregnant daughter-in-law was spared!!! They killed the killer of Muslim President Zia-ur Rehman, who was assassinated in a RAW plan, by shoving the bayonet through his head and kicking the dead body to the sewage!!! Such is their rage!!!!!!!

India is waiting to see if BD takes back its illegals gracefully when Assam and N.E has them ready to deliver after the ongoing citizenship documentation process.

Otherwise the same "atrocities" are going to happen from this side too to force BD and vindicate Burmese ongoing action fully.

No point in pre-emptively taking the side of such a hypocritical society that is BD...that creates the illegal problem, denies it while it happens and then cries when the backlash finally happens through force.

Now if BD cooperates with India better on the illegal issue, then we will take more interest in BD concerns about rohingya situation (but it will be an approach of settling them peacefully within BD given they are not recognised by Burma as Burmese nationals).

Till then the benefit of the doubt goes to Burma....given Burmese dont do these shenanigans of illegal migration to India....are good neighbours of India and a fellow dharmic majority culture.

If it needs to happen, BD will be cordoned off and suffocated as much as needed till it plays ball.

Chinese arms to Burmese military will also be welcomed so BD understand no one that matters is on its side in any major way when push comes to shove.

I would agree if BD wasn't flooding our border areas with illegals for decades now and truly minding their own business.

Till they recognise and take measures to re-address it...India will tactly interfere in BD's sovereignty as much as is needed to put pressure on it. BD resentment about India will be there no matter what, we might as well get a good amount of intel from the Hindu community there on all the weak spots in BD society....and thus need to signal to BD we have this community's backs and can make things very bad for BD if they don't crack down on their illegal people smuggling and immigration....and also a sign of what will be done to BD if they refuse to take back the bulk of their illegals when the time comes.

I dont know where did you learn these, probably from Pakistani source.
1) Mujib himself was in the forefront in Pakistan movement. His mentor (Sohrawardy) was the man responsible for most of the Pakistan movement.
2) Sohrawardy was the one who made alliance with China which PK is so proud of now.
3) Sohrawardy is the one who started nuclear program in PK which made them a nuke power now.
4) Sohrawardy is the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Pakistan.
5) Sohrawardy was kicked out from power and he had to die alone in a hotel in Beirut.
6) Sohrawrdy formed the party which Mujib led only to get elected 2nd time as the leader of Pakistan.
7) Then again instead of handing over power to Mujib, the W. Pakistani civialian and military leadership conspired and attacked civilians in the dead of the night.
8) Zia's assassination is a complete different chapter and mostly to do with feud and his earlier killing of army officers and very little to do with politics or RAW.

Who is the traitor here?

.
I seen a Hindu girl showing her gratitude that some BD hindus went to Modi for their remedi here and Modi going to do something. When I asked what is she expecting India can do to save them? She could not find an answer.

Who is the traitor here?

Decision to break Pak, the largest Muslim state of the time, was taken in 1948. Nehru gave 10 years time. Being an Imperialist Mountbatten gave 25 years. Rahmetli Jinnah understood it immediately and warned the Pak by calling the rebels as "the friends of our enemies". But, the Pak establishment were criminally negligent. I hope they have learnt their lessons. BD Muslims learnt it later, and now are living through this hellish episode.

Mujib was a RAW agent and convicted in "Agartala conspiracy". He himself later admitted it. His audio tape of the conspiracy to break Pak was available. Instead of giving power to him rather Pak could have made Indira Gandhi their PM. Mujib and his cohorts started the massive genocide of Muhajir folks in the early week of March, 71. Women, elderly, babies - none were spared. Pak military action came too late and was too little.

His killing by BD folks, who themselves fought against Pak, and for which nobody protested or showed any remorse publicly or voluntarily offered any Jenaza prayer, is itself tantamount to the fact that he was considered a traitor by BD Muslims themselves. When in 1974 Bhutto visited BD in connection with the OIC meeting, the folks thronged in the streets in such large numbers that Indian trained para-military had to forcefully disperse them. After a million folks died in the famine during his mis-rule, BD folks learnt their lessons, albeit in a tragic manner..

He thinks Bangladesh flag itself is wrong and a Hindu Symbol, do you really expect any kind of reasoning here

Good for you. As for me, it's the Izzet of Ayyildiz ( Hilal ve Sitara), so I am not leaving. And, I can't just laugh it away when it's lowered in a Muslim land and being replaced by the symbol of Somnath, Sun-God, Mitra etc...

Neheru gave 10 years whereas most Pakistani politicians gave 5 years of Indian break up.
Emotion ran high in all front that time. Rest are fiction fed by PK sources.
Millions of people shows respect to Mujib's grave even 40 years after death. Same is true for Zia, Nazimuddin, Sohrawardy, Bhasani etc. They all played their role at different segment of the history. You know very little about Bangladesh.

Anyways its time to move on! No need to fight in the past. We should focus more into economic/technology front. That is what needed for all muslim countries. We already lost a century.
