At current rates, Bangladesh could top India's per capita income by 2020

Bhai in my opinion if you don't love Bangladesh then you don't deserve to display a Bangladeshi flag under your handle. I'm sorry but that is how I feel.

Who made you the authority to decide on who does and doesn't love Bangladesh?...and to give some policy prescription on it on top?

Have you not learned a single thing about how your country has been divided so far on precisely this?...yet you go about doing this still.

Bangladesh begins construction of 1.2GW Matarbari power plant
By Compelo Staff Writter

State-owned Coal Power Generation Company Bangladesh (CPGCBL) has broken ground on a 1.2GW Matarbari power plant in Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh".

Matarbari ground breaking was done on 28 January, and now an always stupid @Bilal9 claims 60% work is complete. Read the news below about Rooppur nuclear power plant. It started only in December 2017. It will be commissioned in 2023. But, here you are fabricating the reality by saying 95% complete. What a filthy Awami League crony you are!! This is how you drink a Taka300/cup tea in the Golden Bengal? Stop fabricating, lying, boasting and whining all the time. BD is disliked by other people because your type of people are numerous here.

Preparation for construction of Rooppur NPP, the country's first nuclear power plant
Location: 160 km away from Dhaka on the eastern bank of the Ganges, Pabna District
Project specifications: Construction of two power units with VVER reactors (2,4 GW total capacity) launched in December 2017. Comissioning is scheduled for 2022 and 2023. Apart from NPP construction and commissioning, Russia will construct all required infrastructure facilities.

I said Civil works was more or less complete. You are posting old pictures.

Fair enough

I guess 5th? time's the charm with an illiterate, I mean good grief man:

As of 2018 India's per capita income is 111,782 INR

There is nothing wrong in accepting Bangladesh has moved ahead of India in terms of per capita income.

the figure that was quoted for India was GNI not NNI.

if it is NNI what is the GNI of India?

====================================

Moving on to the next bit of illiteracy (it just flows on its own so naturally):

India's GNI is 124,916 INR which is 1854 USD

Why are you applying today's exchange rate to last year? Oh right you are an illiterate. What is the exchange rate that IMF uses for 2017/2018 FY (since you are too lazy to look it up)?

https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2018/01/weodata/weorept.aspx?pr.x=52&pr.y=6&sy=2016&ey=2023&scsm=1&ssd=1&sort=country&ds=.&br=1&c=534&s=NGDPPC,NGDPDPC&grp=0&a=

Around 64.4, not 124916/1854 = 67.4, that's a 5% difference, almost a whole year of real constant dollar growth. Hence why IMF lists GDP per capita for 2017 as 1983 USD. GNI per capita would similarly be 124916/64.4 = 1940 USD. (All in current terms with no effect of inflation or purchasing power).

If you want to use todays exchange rate (using a spot rate is flawed as well btw, compared to say yearly average), wait for todays PE of GDP/GNI etc (i.e FY 2018/2019) moron. Its like spoonfeeding basic common sense to a baby.

which is only around 100 USD more now but in 2011 which was 87% more and Bangladesh will overtake India's GNI within 2 year as the article indicated.

After this much illiteracy on display by you, why show even more? There is a reason why both IMF and world bank do not share your illiterate feelz opinion (again as has been posted multiple times already) even in current terms:

GDPpc.jpg

Before you holler that this is GDP and not GNI, the difference is minimal when it comes to India and Bangladesh:

https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GNP.PCAP.CD?locations=IN-BD

https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.CD?locations=IN-BD

GNI/GDP ratio for India = 98%

GNI/GDP ratio for BD = 98%

So what is the reason for IMF and World Bank projecting this continued difference between India and BD even in current terms?

Simple, the underlying base (when inflation and purchasing power is taken into account) trend i.e using constant US dollars and PPP dollars (current/direct exchange rate just adds effective inflation on top to this and converts that to USD without acknowledging it is of no use to a person within BD consuming 99.9999% in Taka):

indbd1-jpg.477277

indbd2-jpg.477278

Basically the atrocious level of inflation that is happening in BD is leading to a HUGE disparity (esp given its not a high forex, undervalued exchange rate country) between its current and constant US dollar GDP/GNI, that is now starting to eat away at household level (and even calorie intake):

@Major Sam @Khan_21 @Chak Bamu @bluesky @Gibbs

Now if you "black cats" want to show me some non-google, non copy-paste economic capability/logic of yours, tell me why there is a difference between the ratio of constant/current GDP per capita when its non-PPP (76%) and PPP (93%) for BD.

I pose this question to everyone actually (this phenomenon affects every country) if interested.

========

Stick to the topic, idiot instead of writing essay. We are not talking about inflation as that is a different topic. Looking at the progress butt hurt start to the slum dwellers Bihari Dalit like you who is posting with false fag of Canada.

It is surprising how mods are allowing this troll to spam the forum with same stuff again and again. I guess last time the mods banned you was not good enough. Now it requires a long term ban.

He was banned multiple times, not just once. Complete lost case of psychosis and obsession now. How many times he's been told to get lost by Bangladeshis here - I can't even count. I've seen this scary obsession in some people who don't get enough protein. Belongs to a sanatorium.

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

@Desert Fox @django look at these guys haha (no wonder they bray the same complex about the BD genohoax coz feelz), looks like they need to get in line these days (under new improved mod system):

Bhai @bluesky - I am disappointed. You are entitled to your own opinion but your patriotism toward the very land (Bangladesh) which (supposedly, according to your flag) gave birth to you and your ancestors is in question.
Please open your eyes to understand the reality. India is developing
Bhai @bluesky - I am disappointed. You are entitled to your own opinion but your patriotism toward the very land (Bangladesh) which (supposedly, according to your flag) gave birth to you and your ancestors is in question.

Your patriotism is now circumspect because you sing the praises of a country called India which most Bangladeshis consider step-motherly and which is consistently working to halt and disrupt our progress to keep us subjugated in every sphere. While you deride achievements in the country of your birth at every opportunity. Seems like you are fine with Bangladesh being a vassal state and captive economy for India.

With all due respect, please change your flag from Bangladesh to an Indian flag, if your love for India exceeds that of Bangladesh (like your comments above show). The level of fervent propaganda for Indian 'achievements' by Chaiwala bhakts is exceeded only by that of fifth-columnist India-sycophants in Bangladesh. Non-Muslims can be Bangladeshi Patriots too - you know. :disagree:

If you choose not to be one - my condolences.
Are you serious? I talk what I see and think. It is not that I have to criticize Indian industrial and engineering progress because of BD-India bad relationship. What the Indian engineers can design and construct, our engineers are incapable to do it. India today builds all those big things like cars, trucks, buses, railway coaches, freight trains and hundred others that BD certainly cannot emulate even in the next hundred years.

Countries like Japan and German are far away from us. We can simply learn from Indian examples. But, our disliking of India keeps us away from emulating Indian success stories. Meanwhile, India is continuously progressing.

I ask you to study one civil engineering project designed and constructed by the local engineers graduated from BUET. Can any of you guys answer one question, why the Teesta Barrage should have been built near the border at the far north instead of at the mouth of Teesta where it flows down to Brahmaputra? Is the present location most suitable?

Now, when I criticize this idiotic civil project by the local engineers you come out by calling me an unpatriot. Note that the Indian engineers would never have selected such a location. Only BD people are intelligent enough to put cart before the horse. This is why still being an LDC, the PM can say with impunity that BD will be a developed country by 2041.
Who made you the authority to decide on who does and doesn't love Bangladesh?...and to give some policy prescription on it on top?

No, @Bilal9 is a patriot because he says of 65% completion of a project when even 5% is not complete and Rooppur is 90% complete when its target date of completion is 2023. When I point out his wrong/falsified information, he cries out and curse me as an non-patriot. But, anyway, being an AL crony he has the right to do name calling of others. I will be accepted as a patriot if I accept his position that BD people drink Tk300 a cup of tea.

@fallstuff and @Black_cats bhais look at post #110 above and see how bluesky has started bad-mouthing me and talking exactly like that retard.

See how he cherry picks only part of what I said. I said civil works percentages complete, not whole project.

I will find my rooppur images post.

Then - a Hindu guy blaming someone (me?) to be an AL crony - of all things?? Classic retard comment.

Trolling as a false-flagger is a fine art where one needs to be a smooth operator . I suspect he is just not that bright to carry it through probably from lack of protein.

From general observation I can tell you that relatively few (<5%) in Bangladesh practice the culture of tinkering in the garage like I see in the US population (the 'picking up a hobby' or skill specialization trait is generally absent in the whole subcontinent and students are implored to memorize theory in rote fashion in order to become a successful doctor or an engineer).

There are about one percent of the folks though who are serious tinkerers (mostly more wealthier than middle class folks). Lower and lower-middle-class artisan type folks have little STEM education but they are amazingly resourceful in improvising means to accomplish an industrial goal (not as resourceful as Chinese technical folks but close).
That is normal for a developing country. The needs people want fulfilled are sequential. It is good enough that this population exists in the first place. The culture of tinkering can be cultivated and encouraged. Rote memorisation is a good educational foundation to start with, its much better than having no knowledge for knowledge intensive professions like doctors or engineers.

Understanding Chinese technical folks as resourceful can be misleading. The most important thing is the attitude of the population. China industrialized quickly because of the attitudes of the poor. They take action and seek to find solutions, its fairly straightforward.

Bangladesh is a country with agriculture as its cultural foundation, the population should have the foundations for resourcefulness. Farmers and the sons of farmers make good industrial workers since they have a compatible culture for industrialization ingrained within them. These people can eventually be educated on specific trades work and technical skills. Attitudes and values comes first, skills comes second. The resourcefulness of the lower to lower middle class folk cannot be understated.

Industrialisation is a state of mind: standardization, accuracy, precision, dedication, following directions, coordination, organization, and problem solving
The govt. is working toward setting up vocational schools, providing tax breaks to private entrepreneurs and subsidized STEM programs and IT skills centers to educate younger students who do not have access and financial means. See here,
Its good that the government is providing broad access to resources.

I do not worry about STEM, IT or back-office skills because those are well established education regimes in neighboring India and Bangladesh. There are already numerous IT parks all over Bangladesh at various stages of construction and they do offer training.
Basic education is important though there are important skills people cannot learn in schools. Knowledge for high commercial value creation is often specifically found in enterprises. Building companies and attracting competitive foreign firms is essential in keeping a talent pool alive and relevant. Some years ago China realised it had an abundance of people who could code in various languages but a shortage of people who could create a new language. This was due to the output focus of higher learning institutions. The coordination between learning institutions and enterprises is essential in continuously climbing the value chain.

What I have concerns about is training non-educated folks in basic vocations like metalworking, welding, metal item fabrication and machining. The number of people who can operate CNC lathes or EDM machines are growing, but we definitely have a long way to go to prepare enough workers in a hierarchical skill-base for these skills. A clear plan to develop vocational skills and the mechanism/resources needed to achieve this goal was mooted by the govt. I will post it in a few days if possible.
Looking forward to the post.

Even in India calorie intake is falling while purchasing power is increasing. There are many factors for reduced calorie intake like urban relocation, less labor intensive work force, increasing costs for transportation, eating out etc.

True, calorie intake decline is mostly related to shifting away from grain to animal protein.More and more people in India and Bangladesh is switching from labor intensive life to sedentary lifestyle. So calorie demand has declined somewhat.Plus rising income of some segment of population means they are affording to eat less calorie intensive grain and consuming more animal protein which are low in calorie than grain. But this phenomenon will reverse soon. Both in India and Bangladesh, calorie intake will start rising again when animal protein intake and other processed food intake will overwhelm declining grain intake with rising per capita income and prosperity for bigger and bigger share of population.

Obviously our output focus needs to change as well - formal industrial apprenticeship for semi-educated folks is close to non-existent. Educated folks (as is typical in the subcontinent) won't even do manager-ship in factories, much less work in machining shops or fabrication shops. This culture is- as evidenced, slowly changing. As I've written before - I believe the best example of this training regime is the well-documented German Mittelstand apprenticeship model. Bangladesh needs to make shop-work respectable, the same as desk-work.

I don't know your educational background.
Are you an engineer or architect or water management specialist? But I am not.

Do you know the basic component of Teesta barrage?
It is an irrigation project not a hydro one.
So where should be the water reservoirs?
What will be the length of water reservoirs and possible capacity within the geographical boundary of BD?
Screenshot_20180601-114349.jpg
Regarding, the idea of irrigation project, it was first perceived in 1937 during British rule. Originally, the project plan approved in 1953 during Pakistan period. Then through a lot of hurdles project implemented in 1990.
So,initially idea perceived during british rule , go through the feasibility and design phase during Pakistan era with help of Haigh Zinn and associates in 1960 and Binnie and partners in 1968.
After independence , expert from water development board and BUET jointly reviewed the previous report and implemented in 1990.
So, What is your point Mr.False flagger?

Have you heared the name of CEGIS (centre for environmental and geographical information services)
and Institute of Water Modelling ?
These are the top notch institutions among Asian .They are not only serve the nation but also share knowledge and help policy implementation regarding water, irrigation and other geographical information to the world. They also engaged in improving water and irrigation related knowledge and strengthening institutional base in central Asian country and INDIA.

So, respect yourself and be respected.

So, tell me how you can reserve water inside Bangladesh when the Teesta barrage itself is located at the north near the BD-India border instead of at its mouth at the Brahmaputra. Forget about what was thought in 1935 when there was no east Pakistan/Bangladesh.

The barrage site was finally selected and constructed by the govt. engineers of Bangladesh. It was a time when the site should have been shifted at the Teesta mouth so that it could retain water in its north within the BD territory. In its present location, do not you think that it is supposed to retain more water in the Indian side of Teesta, but none in its south that falls within the BD boundary?

So, the purpose of building this barrage has not been served. Please give a rational answer without questioning my educational background and without making personal attack. I have very little educational background to speak of.
