As World Turns Its Back on Israel, a Surprising Ally Emerges in India

we are NOT natural partners...just strategic partners!!
we are natural partners..
2 oldest religion...
2 countries fighting muslim terrorism...
there are many points to add, but i will refrain..

we were from past... if u dont know israel helped india even in 1971 war...
and natural doesn't mean.. that u need to hug everytime... one just need to find the commonality between each other..

Just a reminder:
Earlier this year US stood Alone in vote against United Nations inquiry into Gaza assault while India voted for it.
And until the end of the Cold War India had maintained consistent support for Palestinians.
Also Mahatma Gandhi had poured scorn on the idea of a Jewish state in the Middle East.
And as for why India and Israel 're good frens now then let me tel you the affinity has been less ideological than pragmatic.
We have our issues too like Israel remains uncomfortable about India’s close ties with Iran while India looks warily at Israel’s relationship with China.
Let me quote the words of Sushma Swaraj " we fully support the Palestinian cause while maintaining good relations with Israel".
So let me reinstate that its a strategic and not a natural relationship.

voting eqn will change soon... and it should...

congress was chu*** govt.. i do not care what it did..
and i do not follow gandhi...so i dont give a hoot abt him...

i will discuss more after few hour...i need some break..

Well, what India can offer to Israel?? Can India ally with Israel if there was a war break out in ME? I dont think so. India does not have enough financial, economic or military might to do that. Israel will take any shit thrown at it when it is isolated by 70% of the world population. Be it India or Burkina Faso, Israel will take them all.

.
Any Indian support to Israel, outside of defence cooperation, will be seen negatively in Arab world. It probably will not have a huge impact on Indian trade and commerce there, but it might hurt politically and diplomatically.

And then there are organizations like Alqaeda and ISIS which have largely left India alone, any move to cooperate with Israel beyond defence and low key trade will attract unwanted attention towards India.

You're NO Nostradamus to make a prediction. India will oppose for sure.

India's cooperation with Israel in any sphere and in any quantity will create exactly zero difference in its trade and economic issues with the Arabs.
We have made it abundantly clear to anyone and everyone that we treat with every country bilaterally and will not allow relationship of one to come in the way of the other.
The Arabs have long accepted this - being a large market and large country has its perks some times.

As far as Al Qaeda and ISIS, they can do whatever they want, our relations with no nation shall be subject to the whims and fancies of terrorists, particularly those who look to kill every kafir for the flimsiest of excuses. We have dealt with terrorism for decades now, we are not new to this.
