As Bangladesh Cosies Up To China, New Delhi Looks For Path Correction

. .
In this covid situation ask any hotel and shopping mall shop owner in Kolkata . They are becoming poor because BD people can't travelling .
Those are some interesting facts, if true. How much of it is true?

Isn't Shantanu a Bengali name? Then i guess you won't have any problem reading this.

No, no pimpy boi isn't Bengali...

He's got his head screwed on right though.

Have you noticed that since us "Ghuspetias" stopped visiting Kolkata, Indian businessmen there are collectively frustrated and morose?

I guess calling us 'Kangladeshi' didn't pay off too well for Sanghis.

Kolkata shops make 90% of their yearly profit from Bangladeshis during the two Eid festivals. This is well borne out by business owners there.

I say open up cheap flights to Karachi and Lahore, we should do more of our Eid shopping there. Womenfolk in my household are crazy about Pakistani clothes. They get this lawn fabric(?) stuff in the US, but apparently this is way cheaper in Pakistan.

Good lord, not here too.

I just sat through a video call with some family members an hour ago and 25 minutes were spent with the women talking about clothes and 'than er kapor' among themselves, I listened as one should do, to avoid a verbal hammering.

Good thinking though, IMO we should make it extremely difficult to visit India, we have alternatives right there, we've got Thailand for medical tourism and Pakistan for those who feel like going shopping or tasting a bit of that 'desi' feeling.

Those Malda Dada's who badmouth Bangladesh piss me off to be honest, it's time we kick their thali away and let them starve until they learn to show some respect to their clientele.

At this point it's safe to say, Kolkata's economy will take a massive hit should Bengalis from Bangladesh stop visiting, a little back of the wrist never hurt anyone, except to put them in their place.

Ha ha ha - when women start talking about clothes, keep your mouth clamped shut.

They start talking excitedly about 'zardozee' and 'chumki kataan', just let them carry on, take a mental break and give your mind a rest. Just Nod and appear interested.

Otherwise Humki-Dhamki khaba.

You are living with misinformation . More than 1 million Indian National works in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is India's 7th largest remmitence earning source . India earns 7-8 billion usd as remmitence from BD every year . When BD can provide 1 million plus job to unemployed Indians why our people need to go to India for job ??
West Bengal and assams gdp is lower than BD . And you think BD people will go to poor Indian states for searching job .
Yes we import food , spices and industry raw materials from India , people go for traveling. That doesn't mean BD people go to India for searching job .
In this covid situation ask any hotel and shopping mall shop owner in Kolkata . They are becoming poor because BD people can't travelling .
It is simply not true. Yes many Indians do work in Bd and so is many people from Bangladesh also works in India. And it is particularly alarming as many girls are being trafficked from Bd to India who found their place in some infamous place in Kolkata, Delhi, Maharashtra.

What is your motive behind mentioning women trafficking ? Malice ?

Do you want me to answer in kind ?

I said in the sense it is long time to catch Bd upto India . BD is doing good but the they have way more path to complete. I mentioned trafficking in the sense that even if after the so called women revolution in BD women are getting trafficked at an alarming rate , so much for women empowerment .You can retort but it won't change the ground reality in case of BD.

I do not need to retort with anything of that sort, we all know the ground realities of life for women in India beyond the false image portrayed by Indians online and by Bollywood.

BD is not looking to catch up to India, we are overlooking India.

Big world out there, India isn't a benchmark for anything.

You know what they say, dream big.

You are reading straight from the Sanghi RSS propaganda manual. Best is to catch a bus, train or plane to Dhaka and see for yourself. This has been discussed and proven dozens of time on this very forum before.

Don't bother educating this one, I believe he's a Muslim, won't last long in his mahan Bharat Mata anyway.

Keep borders closed when these types come running.

There are less than 10 Indians worth their salt on PDF, this one isn't one of them.

But this one isn't a sanghi either, sort of an in-between'er, a nobody.

Ground realities are more often similar in South Asia not much of a difference . There are differences in treatment of women based upon regions and it is not homogeneous.

Good wish but it is still a long a way to go. Best wishes for that.

It is also true India is not bench mark of anything but it is still the major economic force in the subcontinent .About future no one can say for certain what will happen.

Yeah you should dream big but also keep a foot on reality.

Will certainly visit Dhaka someday . Seen one documentary about Bd and really want to try the tea of a tea stall called "Nilkantha Tea Stall" if I remember correct. Also old Decca part is quite fascinating to say the least due to the cusines available there. Also the "Chittagong" port and Cox Bazar. These places are one my wishlist to visit.
