Army scraps the world's largest assault rifle tender

Your lack of knowledge in very simple topics shows your piss poor quality of education so please do not lie here. At least have some dignity when you cannot have the knowledge.

And people have heard about comprehension skill, WTF is "comprehensive skill"? Which University did you graduate from, bholu ram gadha prasad university? A chaprasi is more qualified than you.

Your name should be Foolish Fartriot not Indian Patriot.

May be , but when the Indian Navy could build a nuclear submarine, when IAF can develop air defence reporting and MAFI with private industry I can't see how the army missed out developing a rifle it desires with the private industry. But then the sons and daughters of army officers can't study at cambrifge and oxford right.

They should be and will be but slowly with the growth in local capability. The AK-47 operates in all environments because it has low tolerances(deliberately kept low) and simple design but it would perfrom suboptimally in conventional war where the round drops beyond 200m. Ignorance has got the better of you I beleive.

Low would not be the correct term to describe it,the tolerances in all AK models are kept incredibly sloppy to say it gently.Even an expert marksman would be lucky to get a 4 MOA accuracy at 100 yards ,even with the best AK one can get one's hands on!!The trajectory of an AK resembles that to that of a fukcing mortar shell if you know what I mean!!

The IA is a complete joke, they literally purchase nothing- tender after tender drags on and on and is eventually scrapped with no benefit in the end to the force.

The IAF and more so the IN put the IA to shame in this field.

This is simply embarrassing and the problem lays with the procurement officers of the IA those in the IAF and IN are far more technically knowledgable and effective in their role.

true, that makes it the go to weapon for militias for hit n run tactics at close range and not for professional armies all the time.BTW the ak also fowls, jams if not properly cleaned and maintained so it is no weapon from hell as it is said to be by ak fanboys.

Well a lot of what you have mentioned is owing to improper planning and lack of vision. Over and above that are our tedious public procurement systems, that act as a force multiplier for the enemy forces.
However in this particular case, i'm ready to hazard a guess that government doesn't want to purchase off the shelf equipment and perhaps wants someone to form a joint venture.
If this weapon system is for future, the requirement will run into a very large number and obviously government doesn't want to remain dependent on a foreign supplier. So its like domestic production with ToT and perhaps the Indian part has to be someone other than OFB.

This is likely to happen.

It may come under Make in India.
