Army major shoots dead Iesco linesman

.
Why one earth would a Major shoot a lineman, he should be given a maximum punishment after a thorough inquiry

.
The army should send a clear message that it will not tolerate trigger happy hot heads in its ranks

.
Normally such matter is handed to civilian courts
Murder and attempt to conceal the crime should carry maximum possible punishment
From army he should get dishonourable discharge
I have seen one drumming out occasion

Let us hope that justice is served in this case, and swiftly.

.
I know what he did was wrong in every way conceivable but we should look at the underlying reasons as well, what exactly were the harsh words exchanged, the Major's deployment record, did he possibly have ptsd or any other underlying mental issues because Majors are generally not trigger happy lunatics

.
Well he has already started to inspire others

This mentality of considering oneself beyond the bounds of law is common among common pakistanis as well. Since militarymen usually get away with everything they do, so this Maj have done the similar job. He should be handed over to civilian courts and must be given proper punishment. Nobody should be above law.

He seemed to have really bad temper, how did he even become a major...

Yes there is a due process for that which is and will be followed, and give me one instance where an army man has gotten away with murder or acted above the law as you have claimed and please don't drag Gen. Musharraf into it

How common is it to hear gunshots in a DHA? Not only did the Major kill the line man, who probably asked for a fee to not disconnect, but the neighbors are complicit in the cover up.

I can start from 1971 and Hammod Ur Rehman commission but in recent times, nobody has forgotten the Akhrot Abad incident yet. Captain Hammad was the one who raped Dr Shazia is Balochistan and got away without any punishment as well.
