For some reason I see some cold and cloud in the relationship between the old friends here Turkey and Europe especially after the visit of Erdogan to Putin Am I right or wrong?

I wish all that just a cold virus that will vanish soon.

EU is bad, just ask the UK.

If I could decide we'd show the middle finger to the EU right away.

Then sit back and eat pop-corn and watch as they become minority in their own countries.

If Turkey actually joined the EU the next day we'd have all our eastern neighbours and half of Africa and Asia trying to enter Turkey to get access to the EU.

Even we would become a minority in Turkey.

I think the EU is a very bad idea for Turkey, we should stay away from it.

Turkey was never going to be let into the EU. They must have known this years ago. It's weird how they just continued negotiations anyway.
But, why not is that for religion issue or turkey is poorer than EU or what please.

You know if EU joined Turkey there would be no Islamist in ruling it!.

I don't think it's just about religion, Turkey isn't really blue eyed and blonde at least not the majority, there is a lot of racism based on what skin color you have in western europe.

They don't say this openly instead they used words like "Islamism" because if they openly said "they are not white" it would make them look bad to the rest of the world.

I talked to a western woman once about vacation in Turkey. She told me she would never go to Turkey because it was dirty and we kill dogs and so on. But she said Greece and Spain on the other hand she would go to.

There is this perception in the west that Turkey is some shitty country.

Obviously tourists that travel to Turkey see that we are a clean and very nice country, but the majority in the west never travel to Turkey so they assume it's some shitty country and vote accordingly.

Anti-Turkey propaganda from Western mainstream media has increased to new levels since some years ago, but the 15 July 'coup' attempt and the indiference of the US and EU, even blaming the Turkish govt and siding with Gulen, and support for Gulenists from US and EU politicians and media have made things worse. Anti-Americanism, which was already very high, and anti-EU will definitely increase more, even among the pro-western segment of Turkish society and media, after seeing US and EU hypocrisy and hostility. Did you think they, foremost the US, would let us become more independent (foreign policy wise) and self-sufficient that easily? It should already be known by now that whoever does not bow down to the US will get pressured until a pro-US govt/puppet is installed. Examples are abundant.

Even their foreign ministers' involved in propaganda....and they are resorting to lies and slanders.

What is it that bothers them so much? What is it that they can't get from us? What is it that Turkey doesn't want to give to them? :coffee: If you ask me, they must be feeling MAD about the fact that the Turkey of now is not the same silent, yes nodding, easy to please, obedient Turkey of the past. They really try hard to pressure Turkey into a corner.

Saying **** off to EU is not only easy but a necessity. As for NATO I find ithighly unprobable that Turkey exits the club You can't end 70+ years of coop and relations in a few years. I think Turkey will stay in NATO but will not care much for what Brussels has to say.

You are the strongest muslim country, you constitution may be secular, but you are muslim and that bothers them.
weather you realize it or not.

They took down Iraq because they were strongest Arab country in the Middle East.
They want to take down Turkey because well you know :)

Let them try, I have the feeling Turkey won't be figting them alone, it will be like world war 1 with many muslim countries pooring in to help Turkey in the fight.

This is because all the muslim countries know, that if Turkey falls so do they, we are like the guardians of the muslim border.

It's all about their own interest, nothing more. You can be democratic, but if you are not working for their interests... prepare for invasions that bring democracy, freedom and liberation. Prepare for media smear campaigns, political pressure whatever. We know their games in Turkey, Middle east and elsewhere and what they want, hence the relaxing and 'really? tell me something new' :coffee: emoticon in my first post :)

Who you think will join you?
There are no Muslim countries that can actually take on NATO.

Its not even about the "interests" brother. They will continue to hate you until you accept their .... ideology.

What NATO, without Turkey they don't have the 2nd biggest army :)

You should read about our independence war, it's not all about the numbers. They were MUCH MORE superior to us tech wise back then yet we beat them, if the people had the same will to fight invaders today (which they do) they don't stand a chance, bring it on.

I think the following will join us without thinking twice:
Bosnia
Albania
Azerbeycan
Qatar
Pakistan

But in such a war against the west, Russia will dive in to seize the opportunity as well, because it knows it would become the new super power if it beats the US.

Not to underestimate you, I have read (a little) about Turkish history and their mighty army, but.

They wont have the second biggest army but without Turkey NATO would still be a formidable force to fight one country.
You remember Iraq bro?

Besides, who do you think will come for your help?
