As an aerospace engineer and having worked on the F-16 Block 40, I beg to differ. The JF-17 Block 2 is a significant achievement but nowhere close to the F-16 Block 40. The F-16 has been built in around an open source architecture format whereas the JF-17 despite the successes, it still has a long long way to go....

Can you please explain bit detail in which aspects thunder lacks and in which aspects ... general perception except speed and load thunder is almost 90% to 80% in capability of f16 blk 52 ...

Agreed but difference is mainly in terms of performance and quality of sub systems and not the capabilities ... for example we know that sd10a is short in range in comparison to amraam but range is more than sufficient to engage any fighter size aircraft whereas AMRAAM are although have more range but is limited by range of radar and distance require for high probablity attack ...

and it was never selected.

Really? FN-6 manpack is highly praised by user with strong resistance to ECM and main thing it is the customer who is too cheap to buy the older version of Manpack like QW-1 and QW-2. Dont blame Chinese product when its the customer who has no money to buy better one.
