Hinduism, Budhism and Sikhism, are different religions. But the essence of all these is same.
These are Dharmic religions.
There are no hard and fast rules which you have to follow in order to be a hindu.
Now, as with each religion there are good things and bad things associated.
Same is the case with Hinduism.
Budhism originated from Hinduism, because of the voilence and divide in the society.
Budhism taught non- violence to society, and hence spread and became one of the main religions. It spread so fast becuase people was fed up of widespread violence during that period. Kings Ashoka was an example.
Now, Sikhism originated during muslim empires in India.
At the time, when atrocities of the muslim emperors were goin out of hand, another religion originated from Hinduism in the form of Sikhism.
Sikhs were warrior clans, who fought the muslim rulers. All our Gurus faulught the wars with Muslim rulers, except Guru Nanak ji, whi was a saint. The whole Sikh history is filled with lengends and stories of great figures fighting the muslim opression.
Now, as mentioned earlier by some members, Guru Nanak himself was born in Hindu family.
All our Gurus have Hindu names, from Guru Angad dev ji to Guru Gobind Singh ji.
Every Gurudwara, which has some history related to it, is a temple and gurudwara both.
Sikhs here knows the importance of places like Manikaran Sahib and Hemkund Sahib.
These places are temples as well as Gurudwars.
So, saying that Sikhism is different from Hinduism and Is closer to Islam is wrong.
Sikhism is a branch of Hinduism which originated when need arose.
Those Khalistan Sikhs dont even have a slightest idea of Sikhism.
Every religion has its share of fanatics, Khalistanis are Sikh fanatics.
P.S. -- I consider myself lucky, to be born in a Dharmic religion, which gives me Right to choose anything, question anything.
I have freedom to question my religion, i have freedom to change my religion, and I have a freedom to even make my own path,
i can create my own religion.
I am a Hindu and Sikh as well.
Neither Hinduism stops me from going to Gurudwaras Nor does Sikhism stops me from going to temple.
Thank you.
