I was born in Pakistan in the city of Karachi. I lived there till I was 17 until I moved to the US in 2000. I was raised in a moderate sunni muslim family. After moving to the US and visiting Saudi Arabia and UAE I realized that most arabs think of desis as low class laborers and never give our people equal rights in their countries (for example you cant get their citizenship even if you are born there nor can you marry one of their women). If you look at our desi culture you will find that we have a lot more in common with indian hindu culture than we do with the Arabs (even though we practice their faith). The point im trying im trying to make is that we arent accepted by the Arabs as one of them despite sharing the same religion but we arent hindu either. So where do we truly belong?

Well you are Indian Muslim Part of Ummah as for Arabs are concerned they are not giving nationality to anyone they think every other person inferior a habit strictly prohibited by Islam they are in miserable condition from last 100 years and it's unlikely to improve because isis is on horizion..

Religion and Culture are two different things..
India believe the Culture is the bond that brings people together..whereas pakistan believe that it's the religion that brings people together.
pakistanis have similar culture to that of Indian , which they are trying hard to 'escape', and adopt the arabian cilture, but the arabs don't consider them , as u said, equal to them, even being of the same religion..
The Plight of pakistanis is well summed in the well accepted proverb
.." dhobi ka kutta... na ghar ka na ghat ka..."
:coffee:
No need to bark so much pay attention to studies Pakistanis follow Indus culture and they are not begging Arabs to accept them.

Its interesting if you look at our ancestors who were hindus but they got along well until the arabs came and started converting some to muslims. Now we dont belong anywhere. We arent hindus (even though our language, culture and values are) but we never fit in with the Arabs either since they think we are "Low Class" and not good enough to be a part of their society.

We are Muslims and proud of it and we are Muslims to please ALLAH and his RASOOL SAW not Arabs

Hahaha.. yet another failed attempt by our friends to relate us with indians.
Dear fellows we Pakistanis have not adopted anyones culture, we have our own distinct and unique culture which is different from both indian and arabic. Those who are calling our culture to be arabic actually dont even know what Pakistan culture is, and for those who likes to relate us with indians are nothing but stupid people which dont have any brain to distinguish between two cultures.

Language is more related to culture than religion. There are 54 Muslim countries and each are quite different from the other. Language tells more about culture than religion. Pakistani Punjabi and Sindhis are closer to North Indians culturally than are Balochs or Puktoons, in the same way as North Indians are culturally different from Tamilians or Assamese

So who are you?

If you are from this land than you are related to North Indians, If you outsiders who invaded India than either you are Arabs or Persians or Central asians

Why are you so confuse! you call your self Pakistani then you should act like one. Dont act like some sort of identityless person, we have our distinct identity, our own astonishing culture and our own beautiful country which we should be proud of.
You are just just Pakistani whether you are in arab, india or in us or in anyother country. you dont need to think that much, and its not that hard to understand.
