India is learning hard way that democracy is messy. It's not all fun and games.
Wasn't this plant brand new? Didn't even last a few weeks. Talk about a bad investment, if I was Apple I'd fire the guy who thought manufacturing in India was anything more than a scam. Anyone who's serious about manufacturing goes to China to avoid stuff exactly like this. Frankly I find it amazing that a company like Apple would fall for this Indian manufacturing mirage. Whatever mirage Apple had about India is shattered like glass now, I read somewhere the low estimate is $7 million damage and the high estimate is $60 million damage. Hope Apple finally woke up lmao. Looks like more than just some vandalism, windows are smashed and burned, CCTV cameras destroyed, Apple got burned by India, can't wait to see how Modi gets out of this one. People wonder why China has an iron fist, stuff like this is why.
But I can't say I'm surprised world's biggest scammer country scammed the world's biggest scammer company. Scammer got scammed.
Indian people are wild and crazy, they give unchained animals a run for their money. When you set them loose you never know what's gonna happen. Could be riots, could be a bull in a China shop.
But in all due seriousness, I will say that even as much as I have disdain for Indians, I would be super pissed if my boss didn't pay my salary on time so I cannot hold that against anyone, even Indians. If Apple is exploiting cheap labor and withholding salaries, like Indians claim, then that's pretty hypocritical of Apple to preach about human rights and then pull this stunt.
