Anyone in Sindh Objecting to KALA Bagh Dam? One more flood One more Year

When the moment comes to discuss issues like Kala Bagh Dam Media is dead silence
why don't we say the obvious!!!!

Build KALA Bagh damn or floods and Natural Disaster will continue and we won't be able to store access water the water which should be blessing is a curse because of Political black mail from PPP in Sindh who have objected to KALA Bagh Dam

This moment our focus should be on this Dam and not Political Revenge against Honorable Imran Khan
The focus should not be on beating up Reporters

Discuss the issue which is important this Kala Bagh Dam to protect against flooding

Discuss the DAM so their is reduction in Sudden Flash Flood in South Punjab or Sindh

Sindhis first need to kill Bhutto Jo Abbi be Zinda ha. Baki kam khud ba khud theak ho Jain ga.

Dam doesn't consume water or divert it. If Punjab wanted it wouldn't allow even drop of water to go to Sindh in winter/spring months. It would rather irrigate huge tract of Cholistan and Thal plains with it. And you don't need dam to do that. Like when Ayub Khan gave 3 eastern rivers to India and now only in flood/monsoon they receive water.

Now current situation isn't preventable as there is nowhere to divert water in monsoon. Only dams can store and that to small amount but maybe enough to not cause this devastation.

The future is dams to store water in flood season/monsoon and slowly release it in winter/spring. Tarbela dam for a month have been releasing more water then storing, I'm sure this have played role in floods around indus. With Basha dam and Kalabahg dam, there wouldn't be need to release so much water in monsoon and indus follow will be normal or at least not like today.

Will dams in upper areas prevent all floods? Not really because Balochistan doesn't have river but hill ********. But it will prevent or reduce floods around lower indus region.
It’s not that dams divert water, by design, but hold back water as they fill up. The time and water it would take to fill up the dam to a minimal level is temporary pain the downstream users will experience for possibly a few years. Politically it’s hard for Sindhi politicians to sell it to the people even if it means long term continued benefits. Strong central leadership and visionary local politicians are what need to dispel the disinformation and help prevent the floods with solutions that work.

So why did everyone oppose it?

PPP is still takingjoy rides. A stop over in Paris, dinner at the CN tower, boat cruise at the Niagara falls...
Not sure. I spoke to the author about 5 years ago, and from what I remember, I think he told me the government at the time didn’t show any interest. :(

The author pointed out that statistically a major flood occurs in Pakistan on average once a decade, so this might be the big one, and we won’t see more massive flood next year. But failure to build these dams not only allows flooding but prevents the water being put to good use.

People really need to do something about the main reason for why Pakistan hasn't developed, and that is the corrupt leadership, they should drag those people on the streets and carry out mob justice.

What pain? If anything Sindh would wish that dams would be storing water now. But tarbela filled up weeks ago. Dams only fill up in monsoon when Indus doesn't need extra water, if anything it need less. Then dams release more water then they receive in spring. Only dams can assure minimum flow of water in Indus through out the year.

Sindh is drowning because of indus flood. Northen KP/Balochistan cannot do anything as its mountainous area, so only preventing construction near river bed is the way to go. But south punjab and sindh can be saved with more dams in upper area. With Bhasha and Kabalgh dams, Indus would have 10MAF less water now and floods will be less severe.

Sindhis would be must in favour of dams if not for politics and agendas.

Because PPP thrives on stroking Sindhi ethno-nationalism. Their whole voting strategy is to say "Ham tumhain zalim Punjabi aur Pathan say bacha rahay hain".

Government did not show any interest because this is a long term project, and no one wants to start a project which gets completed after their term ends. PTI did it, and look at how they are suffering now with the claims '4 saal main aik bhi power plant nhn lagaya'. Meanwhile N nay aik saal main 10 plant laga kar bera gharq kar dia hai.

Even if the proposed system ONLY stops two floods in a decade, this would be a worthwhile investement. But the added benefits from energy production, irrigation (making previously arid land farmable), and solving water issues of different localities would only bring in more revenue.

Exactly Pakistan needs attention with dams and canals we can turn deserts into arable lands with little expense compared to building orange lines and shenanigans but this needs the will and honesty.

There is a saying in Punjabi " Matt Mul labhdi eh" you learn from difficulties and challenges let's see what transpires.

We spent $2 billion of loan money on a pointless Orange Line Metro in Lahore. We could have used that to create a system of canals for lower Punjab, create a dam or contribute to the dam, improve our disaster management caapbilities, improve almost every other thing which would have made more sense rather than making a metro.

Surely Zardari's Abu these days the notorious Big B ought to be able to convince his ladla sapoot of the merits of Kala Bagh dam, or is that asking too much of that traitor?

watch this.. shared before... if not strong, dams will bring havoc, too.. we need emergency diversion canals to flood low basin area..
