Indian-American groups to protest against Narendra Modi’s US visit
Modi is expected to travel to the US in a week to attend the 70th annual session of the UN General Assembly.

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US next week, several Indian-American groups have decided to stage protest rallies against him.

Under the banner of Alliance for Justice and Accountability (AJA), these organisations will hold a peaceful protest rally outside the SAP Center in San Jose on September 27, where Modi would be addressing a full crowd of some 18,500 people with thousands others expected to be watching him live on big screens outside.

“AJA will hold a protest at the SAP Center on September 27, 2015 under the banner #ModiFail, to expose the realities behind Modi’s alleged accomplishments,” a press statement said.

The alliance, which describes itself as a US-based coalition of a diverse range of Indian-South Asian organisations and individuals, has also launched a website #ModiFail, highlighting the alleged failures of the Prime Minister.

AJA had held a similar protest rally of about hundred people when Modi addressed some 20,000 Indian-Americans at the Madison Square Garden in New York last year.

“The Alliance will also reach out to elected officials and corporate leaders in the US to inform them about Modi’s failed and regressive policies that negatively impact human rights, religious freedoms, the environment, and overall: shrink the space for civil liberties under his rule,” it said.

“Narendra Modi is visiting Silicon Valley to talk about Digital India. But we’re worried by his record. Digital Indians deserve strong privacy and free speech protection,” said Anirvan Chatterjee of AJA.

Sikh for Justice’s legal advisor Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said that the New York-based outfit would picket Facebook headquarters when Modi visits the complex on September 27.

Supporters of Modi on Thursday announced to gather in large numbers to welcome him outside his hotel when he arrives in New York to attend the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.

Bhai this is not anti Modi protests . These are protest against Congress. They are just demanding justice with hope from Mr. Modi. And I doubt most of them are even Indians .

.
Firstly what does Modi has to do with 1984 Sikh Riots?
Secondly in democracy every one has freedom to express there views, its not necessary its going to correct or if thats going to be accepted by Mass.
Thirdly if someone is hurt in some way then they should find a way to talk, protests will not solve the issue.

A group of Sikhs and the Patidar community supporters have demonstrated outside the UN headquarters in New York, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on Sustainable Development at a special UN summit.

Under the banner of Sikhs for Justice, over 200 Sikhs, alleging human rights violations in Punjab, demanded referendum in 2020 for a separate Khalistan. The protesters, raising anti-India and anti-Modi slogans, urged the world body to take steps to meet their demand.

"There is massive violations against minorities, in particular against Christians, Sikhs and Muslims," SFJ leader Bakhshish Singh Sandhu claimed on Friday. Side by side in a separate enclosure were a few dozen members of the Patidar community from Gujarat who are living in different parts of the country. "We want justice from police brutalities. As many as 4,000 youths are still in police custody. There has been police brutality against innocent people. So far no action has been taken against the police officials responsible for this," one Anil Patel claimed.

The protesters were sporting caps of Sardar Patel Group from Gujarat, which is leading the movement for reservations for the Patel community in the State. Meanwhile, a few enclosures later at the UN headquarters, another group of Patels under the banner of Indian Diamond and Gemstone Industry of New York held a welcome rally for Modi.

he looks like a clown..
Probably smiling face is not the right pose when you are attired as fighter from a warrior tribe.
Dont mistake, that attire is worn by the one of the most fierceful tribe on this planet, for whom boundaries means nothing.
