Another victim of VIP culture laid to rest amid tears and sobs
LAHORE: The youngster named Tahir Malik, who was shot dead by the security squad of former premier Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son, was laid to rest here on Thursday amidst tears and sobs, ARY News reported.
According to details, Tahir Malik was laid to rest in a graveyard located at the Wahdat Road, Lahore. He was shot dead by the guard of ex-PM Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son, Abdul Qadir Gillani.
Earlier, the Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed along with other PTI officials, members of the civil society and a large number of citizens attended the funeral prayers of the youth who fell prey to the persisting VIP culture in the country.
Talking to media, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed demanded the authorities to arrest the culprits and bring them to justice. He added that the VIP culture can only be ended by delivering justice to the victims of such incidents.
Rasheed also demanded the chief justices of the high court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo-motu notice of the incident.
On the other hand, Abdul Qadir Gillani’s guard Muhammad Khan has recorded his initial statement to the police. Khan, who is already under police custody, said in his statement that the youngster riding a motorbike was time and again nearing Gillani’s vehicle, at which he was repeatedly cautioned to maintain distance.
“When the youth declined to adhere to the command third time and continued advancing towards the vehicle, I fired taking aim at the tyre of his bike, but the bullet accidentally hit victim’s head. I had not fired at with an intention to kill him”, said the arrested guard.

Bullcr@p. The guard aimed at tyre but the bullet accidentally hit victim's head and face, killing him at the spot. If this really was the case, then this policeman has pathetic aim. And again, the FIR wasn't launched against the powerful accused people until public pressure. This is the performance of Showbaz's govt after almost 7 consecutive years.
