LAHORE: The youngster named Tahir Malik, who was shot dead by the security squad of former premier Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son, was laid to rest here on Thursday amidst tears and sobs, ARY News reported.

According to details, Tahir Malik was laid to rest in a graveyard located at the Wahdat Road, Lahore. He was shot dead by the guard of ex-PM Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son, Abdul Qadir Gillani.

Earlier, the Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed along with other PTI officials, members of the civil society and a large number of citizens attended the funeral prayers of the youth who fell prey to the persisting VIP culture in the country.

Talking to media, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed demanded the authorities to arrest the culprits and bring them to justice. He added that the VIP culture can only be ended by delivering justice to the victims of such incidents.

Rasheed also demanded the chief justices of the high court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo-motu notice of the incident.

On the other hand, Abdul Qadir Gillani’s guard Muhammad Khan has recorded his initial statement to the police. Khan, who is already under police custody, said in his statement that the youngster riding a motorbike was time and again nearing Gillani’s vehicle, at which he was repeatedly cautioned to maintain distance.

“When the youth declined to adhere to the command third time and continued advancing towards the vehicle, I fired taking aim at the tyre of his bike, but the bullet accidentally hit victim’s head. I had not fired at with an intention to kill him”, said the arrested guard.

Bullcr@p. The guard aimed at tyre but the bullet accidentally hit victim's head and face, killing him at the spot. If this really was the case, then this policeman has pathetic aim. And again, the FIR wasn't launched against the powerful accused people until public pressure. This is the performance of Showbaz's govt after almost 7 consecutive years.

Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi Rajeeoon for the poor soul and another Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi Rajeeoon to brainless logics uttered by rubbish people!

It's pathetic really, that an ex-minister's son can just kill a citizen, just like that. Absolutely pathetic. Why does he have armed guards and his own VIP rights? I mean I can understand having a couple of guards but what hell is it with convoys and everything? And did the guards have shoot on sight orders?

As for their stupid "aimed at the tyre" excuse, first of all, you don't aim a firearm towards someone unless you're positively sure killing them is justified or they are an immediate threat to your life. The aiming for legs/tyres crap only happens in movies, in reality you'd either miss or kill the target, the chances of effectively crippling someone and not killing them with a firearm is very, very low (unless you're sitting right next to your target). I wouldn't fault the guard's aim, I'd fault the fact that despite being trained he still has delusions about his ability to aim.

What's even more alarming is that their story is contradicting their previous story that the victim was somehow a threat. When I first heard the story, the image in my mind was that someone on a motorcycle suddenly moved towards the 'convoy', making the guard panic and fire a couple of shots towards him. Now this was very bad but atleast it was a little more understandable.

Then they bring in their bullshit about trying to shoot his tyres and that completely contradicts their previous story that the victim could have been an immediate threat. So what does this prove in the end? That these asses are worried more about the political implications of their actions and not the fact that they just f*ckin MURDERED an innocent person. (hence their drama, to try to make themselves look a bit better to the general public. I am pretty sure its not working)
Innalillahi wa inna aleyhi irajun.

The family of victim wasn't able to register a simple FIR of this murder for hours. SHO clearly told them that he is willing to lodge FIR against unknown suspects, but he can't name Gillani's son in the FIR. Then these poor people had to protest by blocking road, with dead body of the victim, after all that protests and long wait, FIR was finally lodged.

This tells the story about this system, the corrupt system about which a lot of people brag about these days. The family just lost their loved one, that too on a day of Eid, and on top of that they had to drag the dead body on the road for hours just to lodge a simple FIR..

What a farce this is system is.

I'm afraid, this is what popping into my mind. I'm praying that following won't be the fate of this case.

This is so really cruel. I as an Indian is also living in a developing country but have not heard anything like this. I have seen you people talking about things in social media but trust me I have not seen you anything on ground. Hold protest against it not under any party flags. Do it in favor of humanity, for your rights. Come on Pakistanis you sound like a dead nation accepting everything thrown towards you.

P.S - I am not here to troll but I just want you to wake up.

There is another thread running on the same topic. Mods can perhaps merge the two

I know, party flag, but this party stands for justice so the people supporting this party don't support it just like that, they support it because they support justice.
We are waking up, thank you very much for your concern.

It's obvious that Pakistani mindset is changing. I have high hopes. Inshallah, we will improve our mindset, our situation and our country. However, I am very saddened that this incident occured.
Hopefully, it will wake even more people up.

Sir you did not get me and took it somewhere else. When I said not under party flag then I mean the protest by common man and not lead by someone who has affiliation with a political party. We had similar kind of issues in the past, google about Jessica Lal. She was murdered by a son of a politician and all his companions were also politician sons but the common man of India came to street to fight for Jessica. They did not come under the influence of any political party and we won that battle of our own. Protesting on social media alone is not going to make much difference.Don't look for a leader to fight for your own rights.

Shame on these PATHETIC, USELESS politicians. They are of no use to us. They are piece of JUNK. These politicians never done any good to Pakistan. The only thing they have done is that they have increased their own bank balance. They are living in luxuries wasting money of Pakistani qom on useless things.
They don't even care about Pakistani qom they are all liars and they deceive people, they bribe others, they threatens others, they kill people who comes in their way. They are FIRONS and DAJJALI fitna. These politicians are the one who have brought Pakistan in this disastrous place.
Thanks to these politicians the Pakistan is now sinking in the countless problems. These pathetic sold out politicians have destroyed our beloved and beautiful country. Frankly speaking our sold out media always rants about jamuriat, jamuriat.... The truth is there is no such thing as jamuriat in Pakistan. There is monarchy in Pakistan. Which is run by only two families (ZALEEL bhuttoo and BEGHERAT sharif) These pathetic politicians are cancer to Pakistan. These shameless politicians put their interest first. The Biggest hurdle in Pakistan's progress is these politicians. Pakistan never progressed in past nor it will going to in future under these two families.
Dictator ship was 1 billion times better than this FAKE democrazy. During the dictatorship Pakistan's economy was improving and it was making progress in all fields. These INCOMPETENT politicians have ruined everything.
Now the only way left to save Pakistan is to finish the kingdomship of these two BADMASH families.
These INSANE politicians will indeed going to burn in hell for all eternity. But in this world we should give them severe punishments and should make them an example for others.

Not that much of BS.

The shot fired was from the Car/SUV( elevated platform ) towards wheels ( ground ). The bullet in this case would follow a triangular path, and misjudging acceleration of bike could easily lead to gain in relative height for bullet.

Dude,

This security guard is probably from a poor family. He would not be able to afford blood money.

It's not just VIP culture,There are too many trigger happy foolish security guards in pakistan. This is not the first time this has happened. Everytime some security guard gets a gun he believes he is rambo. Each individual should go through a psychology test before getting a gun "which is not a toy".
RIP Tahir Malik
