One soldier had died on Monday in 'accidental fire' on the LoC in Mendhar sector of the same district.

The irony, as soon as there is exchange of fire between India and Pakistan, two Indian soldiers are reported killed due to accidental fire.

Just saw on PTC news that there was a case of mistake identity in which an army post opened fire after mistakenly identifying a soldier as a Pakistani infltrator.

Life is not easy in Ops/active-border areas. Sometimes, the stress/fatigue can get to you real bad and you get brain freeze. And considering the fact there was a cross border fire going on, it comes as no surprise that the soldiers got so worked up seeing a human come so close that they got brain freeze and ended up killing the poor soul. A sad sad end

What to say they are killing every one even their own, This is insane truly insane.

A soldier was killed while foiling an infiltration attempt by militants near the Roshni post in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district around 10 pm on Monday. The slain soldier has been identified as Sepoy Manmohan Budhani of the Kumaon Regiment.

Meanwhile, several houses were damaged when Pakistan shelled several villages in the Nowshera subdivision of Rajouri district on Monday. More than 100 cows, buffaloes, sheep and goats were also killed in shelling.

According to an FIR lodged with the Mendhar police, Sepoy Deepak Singh, a sentry at the Pimple post, observed suspicious movement near the forward post and immediately opened fire and alerted the commander of the post. An alert was also sounded to foil the infiltration bid.

Sepoy Manmohan Budhani and Sepoy Kundan Singh rushed to communicate the development to the senior officers. While coming out of the bunker, a bullet reportedly fired by a terrorist hit the right shoulder of Sepoy Manmohan Budhani and apparently penetrated through his lungs. He was immediately provided first aid on the spot and later shifted to the Army health centre at Balnoi, where a doctor tried to revive the soldier but he succumbed to his injuries.

The terrorists managed to retreat into Azad Kashmir.

In another incident, Naib Subedar Rampal Gurjar and Sepoy Sanjay Kumar of the Rajput Regiment were admitted to Army Hospital in Rajouri after they received injuries during shelling by the Pakistan army at the Sanger post in the Nowshera subdivision.

Meanwhile, Nowshera MLA Ravinder Raina along with Harbansh Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Nowshera, and other senior civil and police officers visited several villages situated along the Line of Control to take stock of the situation and to assess the losses.

The MLA met several people badly affected by cross-border shelling at Jhangar on Monday. “Several houses were damaged severally or partially in Khamb, Gania, Kalsian and Jhangar villages, while around 100 goats, sheep, cows, buffaloes were killed and several injured in villages, including Ans Sarya, Sehar and Namb,” said the SDM.

First it was so called encounters and now accidental deaths after recent fire exchanges with Pak,one wonders what is going to be next..

.
This is why after years of denial you suddenly have Indian military admit it has lost thousands of soldiers

Add another 2 "accidents" to the list

.
Accidental fires heart attacks suicide . isnt ths a good way to hide casualties.

.
They're being accidentally taken out by Pakistan lol. Targeting and killing civilians will have its costs.
