Another Mullah embarrasses himself

.
After I got out of the USAF back in '92, I got a job offer as a supervisor for a PMEL shop in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government would pay for my apartment, a Merc that I could upgrade every two yrs, and my salary in U$ would be tax free. I turned it down even after three raised salary offers. What a country...

People mistakenly think "Fatwa = Law". Anyways, reading the Twitter handle for this was of the funniest things I did yesterday. Clerics never stop embarrassing themselves, as a result people more and more are becoming de illusioneed with the religious.

If they mistook, they did it with good intentions.

Think about it for a moment. Devotees are not irrational people to start. But being rational does not mean one does not seek meaning to one's life and for one's life. When it comes to religion, especially when it is a religion like Islam or Christianity, that claims to offer insights into life, when a representative of that religion, such as a priest, issued an opinion, it is very much a law. It is a personally deeply moral law that, to the devotee, transcends temporal (manmade) laws. The need to find purpose and meaning for life is powerful.

I may laugh at the issuer of such opinions, but I do not underestimate the influence upon the followers.

I too was offered a job in KSA back in the 90s, as the provisional Crown Prince while the real one is on a paternity leave. I turned it down even after three raised gold bar offers! What a country...
You see, we can all be something on PDF!

1) So what is coming next? Islamic Radicals going to kill people who make Cartoons of people using ICE? I am sure it would hurt their sentiments again, as this IDIOT MULLAH has declared them unislamic. !!!!

2) I sometimes wonder, how come Millions/Billions of Muslims could have any regards for SUCH IDIOTIC MULLAHS of KSA?

3) Why Muslims not criticize/ridicule/mock such stupid things being said by such STUPID MULLAHS. I want to see the reaction of the Muslims to this NON SENSE FATWA BY THIS IDIOT?

Saudi cleric issues fatwa on snowmen

A prominent Saudi Arabian cleric has whipped up controversy by issuing a religious edict forbidding the building of snowmen, describing them as anti-Islamic.

Asked on a religious website if it was permissible for fathers to build snowmen for their children after a snowstorm in the country’s north, Sheikh Mohammed Saleh al-Munajjid replied: “It is not permitted to make a statue out of snow, even by way of play and fun.”

Quoting from Muslim scholars, Munajjid argued that to build a snowman was to create an image of a human being, an action considered sinful under the kingdom’s strict interpretation of Sunni Islam.

“God has given people space to make whatever they want which does not have a soul, including trees, ships, fruits, buildings and so on,” he wrote in his ruling.

That provoked swift responses from Twitter users writing in Arabic and identifying themselves with Arab names.

“They are afraid for their faith of everything ... sick minds,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another posted a photo of a man in formal Arab garb holding the arm of a “snow bride” wearing a bra and lipstick. “The reason for the ban is fear of sedition,” he wrote.

A third said the country was plagued by two types of people: “A people looking for a fatwa [religious ruling] for everything in their lives, and a cleric who wants to interfere in everything in the lives of others through a fatwa.”

Munajjid had some supporters however. “It (building snowmen) is imitating the infidels, it promotes lustiness and eroticism,” one wrote. “May God preserve the scholars, for they enjoy sharp vision and recognise matters that even Satan does not think about.”

Snow has covered upland areas of Tabuk province near Saudi Arabia’s border with Jordan for the third consecutive year as cold weather swept across the Middle East.

Mullas are never embrased. They have a final say on each and every act touching human life. They can Issue issue any dumb Fatwa with a confidense of dierction from GOD.

.
The idea behind it is that its actually forbidden to portray humans (or anything alive if im not wrong), but people who want to follow this ruling must stop watching TV, reading Newspapers, taking Pictures, using Internet, making smileys on beach etc. etc. so every muslim will go to Hell anyway. :yu:

. . . . . . . .
Islam seriously is in dire need of a "reset".
when will become breathing a sin and haram?
These clerics dont realise that by passing such fatwas they embarass millions of followers
The issue here is lack of tolerance. The man is a shiekh who has a certain following. They do not impose their belief on others who do not want to follow them. They have an online website to make it easier for people to get in contact with the shiekh. Now the issue with this is someone saw the news and posted it online in a newspaper. The people who got the judgement is ok, the people in the area are ok with it, and it hurt no one. But apparently it is ok to judge everyone and laugh at the way they interpret things. Learn to respect other people and what they believe. Rather then get embarrassed tell people that there are different interpretations to some texts and there are differences in practice. The world will understand they have seen other religions with sects living peacefully. The problem starts when we start bashing our own people making it open season for others too also. Learn tolerance to other what other people believe.
