Common story in entire India. Police stations have to show a record at the end of the year of how many crimes were committed in their zone. News where police stations would argue with each other about whose jurisdiction the case would fall in and where they would avoid registering even murder cases are not so uncommon. It is really shameful, a product of inefficient, corrupt and outdated system.

Insome part of Americas, more crime means more funding. The system is not perfect, but it's better to err on the side of more reporting than not.

Never mind the acute lack of force, political pressures, corruption and so on. The first instinct of any policeman is to avoid registering the case...

most of the muslims ghettos are no go areas for police, they commit crime and fled to this areas whenever police comes they start stone pelting and crying victim to the sickular media. there are frequent cases in UP and Bengal where muslims abduct hindu girls and take them to these areas with no police following them. Police activities are specially curbed when congress or some pro muslim parties are in charge.
We might need army operations in these area to clear the scums.

And this is unfortunate. The British parliamentary system do not work well for India. You guys need a federalist system as its a diverse big country.. And the Feds can then allocate more money to states that has more crime.

More like socialism doesn't works. After the independence, the entire system was formed with the basis that bureaucracy cannot be trusted, especially the police. Everything under the control of public leaders. They never counted on those leaders being corrupt!

Federal system would not be accepted in a country so diverse - states prefer to have more representation.
