Angelina Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), is raising awareness about the plight of millions in flood-ravaged Pakistan. In a new interview, she pleads for help from the public and discusses how her travels abroad affect her, her partner Brad Pitt and their six children.

"I think it's complicated," Angelina told CNN's Sanjay Gupta on Wednesday. "I'm here with UNHCR and they've been in this country for 32 years, and I've been here four times and there's been four different reasons to come. There's one crisis after another. They've pretty much confronted every different type of disaster."

Angelina last visited Pakistan in the Fall of 2005 with partner Brad Pitt after the country was devastated by a massive earthquake. But she tells CNN that the recent floods are just one of the many problems plaguing Pakistan.

"We tend to focus on one issue at a time… but Pakistan, as you know, is so complex because it has not just the people from the flood and the 18 million affected now but it still has the 1.7 million Afghan people who are here who have been displaced." She says she first became interested in Pakistan because of her work helping Afghan refugees displaced there by war.

"I think we have no choice but to be optimistic and to have hope," Angelina says. "I think without that we are just lost and things deteriorate."

Angelina also shared poignant moments from her recent trip, including meeting an elderly Pakistani couple who lost everything at the hands of the flood. She says she shares stories like these with her children and longtime love Brad.

"I talk to my family -- I talk to Brad, and he wants to know as much as he can about these issues and every trip. And he's been here as well. He came here with me after the earthquake. I don't know I don't have a lot of friends I talk to. He's really the only person I talk to. But I told my children… I think it also helps them to be better people to understand a little bit about the world."

Watch the video for more of Angelina's interview, including whether or not she lets her children watch news coverage of the devastation in Pakistan.

It's hard to believe that she has more love for this country then its own leaders.

Because she is a Human and our leaders are hounds-feel the difference my friend.
If you ask me, Angelina Jolie has surpassed petty things such as nationality and act on the behalf of humankind. This is a true role model.

With due respect,

Don't insult the hounds, they are marvelous creatures. They at least show unity to their feeder and home.

Our politicians are worse than....what shall i say...there is no curse word to describe them.
