America’s Latest Rapprochement with Pakistan

we are in FATF thanks to the kabaria lohar party! any defender of that haram tubbar wanna defend their actions on this??
Khata hey tu lagata be hey
Better then cocaine party
Look at all this inflation..when nawaz sharif was in power $ was 100 (when IK came it was at130). Now at 150 this 50% drop is IK problem

Nawaz sharif also built ML 1-2-3 & bhasha dam

Pakistan's present and future is with China, Central Asia and Russia, and NOT WITH COUNTRIES SITTING THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF KILOMETERES AWAY. The day the corrupt Establishment of Pakistan understands this will be the turning point in the history of this country.

.
India may be a central theme for Pakistanis. Is it really the main player in US-China dance ?
I respectfully disagree, the American and the west thought that since Pakistani’s and Indians look the same they are the same people. They were mistaken, Pakistan has successfully defeated two super powers one with American money and the other with their own money while india has surrendered Indian occupied territory to China without firing a shot. The Americans are clearly reevaluating their going in position. Once they leave, the central Asian oil and resources will be up for grabs for the Europeans via Pakistan, Iran and Turkey. Chinese goods and two way trade will be available with Europe and this will fuel the European recovery at the cost of American recovery.

Trumps Decimation of the collective security via nato has Europe thinking weather China would be a better counter to Russian aggression and a worthy counterweight to American hegemony to European success.

so the question really is should America cuddle up to india or Pakistan ? Will paksitan be a better ally in the economic domain opening up the massive Chinese market or India which would be better severed as a group of smaller countries. Will America let india be gobbled up by China in an effort to save its Asian partners? Is it worth fighting with China ?

Why was the $ at 100 back then? If you can answer this honestly, you will know which government was/is better.

.
yes we should do "tried and failed" method again and again.

.
Well yes solution to that problem is China taking over all Pakistan’s loans, and our currency being switched to yuan.

so the decision really is American do they want to lose all leverage with the most powerful country in South Asia or stay in our good books. The question to ask is how important is Pakistan to the West after the Afghani withdrawal, how important is central Asian energy ?

k

So you mean Pakistan will blackmail US stating I'll shoot myself or you mend ways with me.....Lol...and most powerful country in south Asia?..how..just because of that "Atom Bomb"?..

Question is how long Pakistan keep itself viable for the world just basis of letting it's land, geographic location, and resources (mercenaries), used by others for their conflict. When will world recognise any significant contribution that Pakistan can make and start treating it with dignity rather than using it as a tissue paper....

.
If the Americans want good relations with Pakistan, it has to remove the FATF sanctions and talk to a Pakistan about a trade deal that provides the same access as provided to India interms of access to technology and the econonmy.

No need to buy any military gadgets from USA - not required.
I personally thankful to France and USA who puts us into FATF, just imagine how our remittance increased from dollar 10B to 28B this year, and still increasing Mashallah

. .
There seems to be change in the air, the Americans tried to strong arm 💪 Pakistan by adopting some punitive measures , such as :
  • FATF
  • Not inviting Pakistan to the climate talks
  • Pushing the leaving date with Taliban
  • Pushing Pakistan to decide between between China CPEC or Join the west
These measure have had varying degrees of success, giving credit where it’s due the Imran government played their cards well. They played the neutrality card with clear economic goals and resisted the pressure from both America and China. This has had positive results.

there is also the whole India’s Russia problem, it can’t quit them and can’t be with them.....their dismal performance against China has eroded the west’s confidence in India as a military partner.

The question now is more consequential, with this seemingly short lived rapprochement

should we get more f-16s ergo weapons or instead get economic benefits, get on America’s and EU favored Nation status to export fruits, textile , sugar and more. Take their help to build dams and upgrade steel mills and maybe more exports to Europe via the train link . Buy components from China and build Pakistani products like phones, light machinery and most of all green tech solutions like solar farms etc.

I feel that our weapons procurement should be European ( we buy stuff from Italy, Greece, France and the UK) or Chinese, not American! America should exclusively be a trade partner where we buy things like lentils, plant based oil , advanced non military technology etc., take their help in building train networks for supply links for energy exports via gawadar from Central Asia to Europe and Africa.

What’s your opinion ?

k

It’s all about the economy, seek cooperation on energy, seek expert help across Pakistan’s industries, increase the tax base, ensure macroeconomic stability etc. The rest will come.

As for weapons bro , France and Greece! We might as well add India in there as well for weapons purchases.

I know what you mean but we just bought military helicopters from France like a few months ago, we have modified and armed these. We have also bought systems from the helnic navy. These countries care about money and will sell anything to anyone . But I see your point

I think that we need move out of this Cold War mentality especially when another one seems to be on the horizon between the US and China.

At this stage, once the US leaves Afghanistan, there will be a lot anger in the US and an investigation as to where things have failed. The natural politics would be to put forward Pakistan as the scapegoat. This means we can expect a cold shoulder for sometime to come and especially during the tenure of the Democrats who have issues with Pakistan anyway.

Our approach should be very pragmatic. As a nation of 70+ years, we should by now learn that we can not rely on anyone to come to our aid. We should aim to build strong treaties which will help us start building our different sectors of the economy. Clearly, China is at the forefront of such engagement but we should be wary of placing all our eggs in one basket. China is aligned with us because it is in its interest and may well be in the near to mid-distant future. However, as with the US, a superpower eventually starts imposing its will on weaker nations and China is expected to go down that route as well which may adversely affect our relationship with them.

Once the US has blowed steam and comes around to re-assess its engagement in the subcontinent, we should be open to engage with them but in no way should we build a reliance on them. This means that we should quickly spot the carrot and stick policies and avoid them at all cost. We align with the US where our interests align and disengage when not in our interests. The US's waning power of exercising its will gives us a safe distance to disagree.

This means, no more western equipment that have strict export laws. We should build more indigenous and source ToT from China, Russia, Turkey and GCC.

Our objective should be to build a people to people relationship rather than a military to military relationship. Its the former that will help us come together. We have all seen how the latter clearly has its limits and how it can become very difficult for either party to simply say "No"

Doesnt matter...love is blind and people love sheer...nawaz sharif aik nasha

i give you an example but don't take it to heart:

there was a city of donkeys. a man pass through it and found it was a donkey city. when they saw the man, suddenly they started calling the man "Donkey". man was like :what: but what he could do...

this is what we are, a sane person cannot talk to the masses who are ...

the only thing a sane person can do is not to talk!

sorry to blow your bubble buddy
but the usa has treated you like toilet paper for decades
every usa president from Clinton to Trump has flown straight over pakistan to new Delhi for 20 years on state visits.
your importance to the west and usa is minor
the west only see India as a long term trading and strategic partner and especially usa
there is a reason why they offer India the complete f16 block 70 production line and in contrast offer you not even a simple upgrade
answer you have no value to.usa they will.make nothing from you and the main reason they don't trust you after Osama bin Laden lies
they are leaving Afghanistan your need is now over completely

.
So USA is rethinking it's strategy just because of a indo China border dispute. In which China having amassed huge army and air Force actually then backed down and withdrew having lost unknown number of their soldiers.
This was, humiliation for China. When push came to shove they did nothing....just like.i predicted August 20 when I told foolsnitemare our very own PDF chinease cheer leader who was.adament that Kashmir and ladakh will be liberated and was opening multiple threads on pending chinease invasion and victory over poor India.... I was peeing my self in laughter.

Today you are claiming usa needs to choose between two countrys one with 3 trillion GDP and 580 billion forex, versus one with 300.billion GDP and 20.billion forex.
The one that is one tenth the size is,also the one and only real chinease friend in the region.
China and the west are in a cold war and you Pakistanis have jumped into bed with China, because you where ignored by west and usa who only courted India.

Just like Russia will never swap India for pakistan the usa, will.always pick India and indeed the French Israelis in fact even the Arabs
your economic weakness and India.s shear size and political clout and soft power has left you guys in the shadows

Your with China and it's too late to.alter this huge diplomatic mistake
Americans and the Europeans are far smarter than South Asians they do politics far better than us ..They have won world wars, and built empires .. i doubt they need pakistan for any thing ..
Another huge cock up.was allowing indo Israeli nexus to grow so powerful.. Thanks to Israel. India usa relations have reached this far.. you guys should have reached out to the powerful Jews, before India did
just one mistake after another

Please try and understand,
America has her own strategy and goals, which are to remain the world leader in terms of technology, economy and the military power to ensure the above mentioned.

Americans are seriously challenged by China, and they know very well which way will Russia side.

Pakistan by her own self cannot do anything to influence american goals; however Pakistan allowing China
a trade and energy route through land is absolutely not in american interest.

American has a stated policy, that they will not allow that energy and trade route to function; they actually went as far as suggesting an alternate route to trade, energy etc etc.

So, as long as Pakistan continues to stay in the Chinese camp, americans will continue to reproach.
We are actively collaborating with and siding with america's top enemy.

Do not expect friendship in return, rougher days are coming ahead.

What would happen once Pakistan has our Afghan border secured will we foster trade or will we have additional capability available to address Kashmiri concerns specially if the insurgency in Baluchistan dies out
