What's new

Am I the only one?

I am a Yousafzai Pukhtoon, I don't hate Afghanis, Yes there are good and bad people every where but i don't think we should blame the whole community for the crimes of a few.

@haviZsultan I used to frequent the Iranian military forum, where i found alot of hatred towards Pakistanis, but then i meet a lot of Iranians in person here in Australia and they were all totally different from the perception that had built in me from that forum, they had no animosity towards Pakistanis and were very friendly and kind. I realized that forums are not the best reflection of the people. So please don't take the Afghani forums too seriously.

I have meet alot of Afghanis in Australia and i have meet both types, some of them hate Pakistan and they blame us for all the ills in their country, majority (99%) of them were non Pukhtoons (there biggest grief is that Pakistan supported the Afghan Taliban). But i meet alot of Afghanis that actually have lived in Pakistan and had no hatred towards us.

P.S. i have used the term Afghanis and not Afghans, as Afghan traditionally means Pukhtoon, while Afghani means people of Afghanistan.

Most of the great Pashtuns you mentioned were born in what is known as Pakistani territory today.

That was my point. Even poets like Khushal Khan Khattak, Rehman Baba and secularists like Pir Roshan were born on our side of the border. Multan is a place where lodhis and duranni kings were born.

I personally believe Afghanistan and Pakistan should become one. Its the only solution to the problem. One nation is built on ethnicity (Afghanistan), other is built on religion (Pakistan) with a variety of ethnic groups. They are bound to hate each other as they are very different types of countries. Pakistan should take the opportunity and merge Afghanistan with Pakistan.

Lets hope for the best. We should give Afghans a chance as the nation has been in a state of unending war from the beggining. By the way Afghani is an incorrect term for Afghan nationals that actually refers to the currency. Though the name is unfair to the Uzbeks, Tajiks, Hazaras, Qizilbash they have chosen Afghan as their name though historically the region is known as Khorasan, fair to all ethnicities.

The name though not apt for a nation with differing ethnic groups shows the Afghan pashtuns ethnic chauvinism very well and the fact that they can't handle the territory they already have but consider lands south of the durand line their very own. Anyway I am criticizing Afghans again.

The point you raised however is that Afghan in the national sense and ethnic sense is very different. By merging the two and claiming no Afghan can be Pakistani the Afghans try to blackmail Pakistani pashtuns into abandoning loyalty for their motherland when they themselves call uzbeks hazaras and tajiks Afghan. It puts Pakistani pashtuns in an awkward position and asks them to abandon loyalty to Pakistan when they themselves do not give it up. This policy never worked and never will.

Those who are in Pakistan ILLEGALLY should leave. Those who work productive lives, contribute towards our society and who abide by the laws of the land and/or have children born in Pakistan who will swear allegiance to Pakistan can stay.

my take on it

we cannot afford to host 3.5-4 million people in our country, why dont other countries foot the bill too.....where did it say we are solely responsible for them

.
we should have a filter program where we can determine who is troublesome, has hatred should be sent back, by introducing oath taking or something or doing some pshycology to find out if they good or bad.

personally my heart says they ummah brothers , but mind say bas tards throw them out. that why i have to come this solution which is to filter the good, bad and the ugly.

what most of you forgot to mention is the troll that masqurades as afghan and that is indians who spit hate against pak in the name of being afghan.

I had same feeling many years ago that afghans are our brother in Islam but well i was on one way street. If someone is racist and arrogant to you and degrade your country/identity then you cannot be good to them irrespective of whether they are Muslim or non Muslims. When they lose arguments then they start calling you Hindu without realising that Afghanistan also had a very rich pre-Islamic Hindu and Buddhist history and ancestors of all prsent generation of Muslims were non Muslims at some point in past. There are many myths created by pashtun/Afghan nationalist and blindly believe in them because it gives them a false sense of superiority

I agree that Afghanistan should merge with Pakistan as i see it the only solution, we already have the largest Pukhtoon population more than the population of Afghanistan which stood at 30+ million (2005 census, so probably now it would be alot more), we also have about a 1 million hazaras (2005 census). Plus there are other ethnicities in Afghanistan like balochis ( 300,000 in Afghanistan), Tajiks (about 1.2 million in Pakistan, http://www.prayway.com/unreached/peoplegroups3/902.html) even Uzbeks that can be found in Pakistan. So amalgamation would be natural.

lets look at what will people of Afghanistan get out of this merger.

1. Well first the Durrand line will immediately become history.
2. End of Civil War and return of peace.
3. Afghans refugees living in Pakistan will become citizens and will not be harassed anymore.
4. They will have opportunity for better education, better health and better security and a better chance to improve livelihood.
5. Pukhtoon population is already the 2nd largest population and it will become even bigger with a major voice in the affairs of the country.

But in saying that Pakistan needs to do alot of work before other people will want to join them. Pakistan will need to improve its economical and social conditions. Pakistan will need to provide equal opportunities to all of its citizens and remove the quota system completely.

Why can Afghanistan not do all this for pashtun living in Afghanistan?

. . .
Nothing wrong with taking sides and establishing boundaries of what is acceptable behavior and not.

Iran handled Afghans the best, never once treated them as equals. Just made them ghosts. They did the same to Pakistan to an extent. Which is good as it preserves cultural integrity.

Afghanistan on a collective level disregard international borders and show no remorse for doing so. This becomes an existential threat as an equal to say ISIS. Like with all other nations this is zero tolerance.

Call a spade a spade.

I support integration of Afghan people in our society and also merging the "unclaimed" territory into Pakistan
so that we can work to make the place safe for return of this community back to the new province

  • Always considered them hard working
  • Compassionate
  • Lot of room for Legal Residents who abide by law of Pakistan
Act of militant or few Taliban is not 100% ideology of Afghan as whole
The people should shake hand with Pakistan and demand merge and we will clean this place up

We as society need to show our heart even after Militants have made us bleed many times but we must show our compassion all the time, that is our identity

Pakistan

P = Punjab
A = Afghan
K = Karachi (Federal Region 2) , KPK
I = Islamabad (Federal Region 1)
S = Sindh
T = Trade Province , Baluchistan, Gawadar
A = Azad Kashmir
N = Northern Areas

United States of Pakistan

Citizen Ship cards = Sindh , Baluch , Punjabi , KPK , Northern Areas , Karachi, Islamabad
Resident Card = Afghan residents (Green Card)

  • People who file taxes for 10 years in Pakistan can apply for Citizenship card
  • New kids born get citizenship cards in Afghan/Pakistan territory
  • Free trade
Before giving the Resident card , have the folks take Oath that they agree with merger of Afghan area with Pakistan - simple

After merge of region is completed , they are also issued citizenship cards (Law abiding people)
Afghan area would have seat to represent their voice in Pakistani Senate

It is in the greater interest of Existing territories to merge this area , and run a clean up ops

I'd like to ask this question to all the Pakistanis here.

I am a Pakistani Punjabi. Unlike the majority of you, I don't hate Afghan people or their refugees. What I've noticed is that you people are like sheeple. You're all engaged in mob mentality. The thing is that you guys can't even answer why?

I'll tell you. Before APS massacre, all of you were supporting Afghan refugees, but after Peshawar School Massacre, you were upset. You were hurt. And now you are trying to match the dirty Afghans and Indians in hate. I'm sorry to say this, but Pakistanis have always had a bigger heart. I refuse to be a racist towards Afghans. I am a Muslim. I'm not going to join the hate bandwagon.

There are a lot of good Afghan refugees in Pakistan that consider themselves Pakistani. I am not going to be party to discrimination.

A lot of you guys need to grow up. Pakistanis are not vicious and ruthless. We have ideals to uphold. We are the kindest people on Earth, so when I see some of you seething with anger, it hurts my heart. There is no reason for us to behave like Afghan and Hindu government.

Perhaps If our leaders were interested in integration instead of corruption, we would not be in the predicament that we are.

I refuse to be a racist to Afghans. I know a handful personally. They are better people than the mother fuckers we have in government.

So If you consider me a traitor, then you're free to kill me. My house is in Bahawalpur. 32B Model Town B, Bahawalpur.

I am Muslim, and to me that is what Pakistaniyat is.

@Spring Onion @save_ghenda @Pukhtoon @Abu Zolfiqar @DESERT FIGHTER @Jaga Badmash @Windjammer @Moonlight @django @IceCold @Zarvan @waz

Any Afghan who was born and raised in Pakistan and considers themselves Pakistani is one of us. Or if they have lived in Pakistan for a long time and are loyal and patriotic about Pakistan is one of us also. That is not in dispute. However we have a problem with THOSE Afghans who hate Pakistan and claim that our country belongs to them or that any achievements Pakistan has made is because of them. That's all. Yes, us Pakistanis are good people and we are not racists. The only people we hate are indians. No one else. They are an enemy race.
