  1. Lie to me
  2. Fringe
  3. House of cards
Personally I prefer featured films
I used to prefer films as well but after watching a TV show or two, I'm hooked. To me, films now feel like a 15 minute trailer for some reason, TV shows carry on.
I haven't watched any of your favorite shows but I'll check 'em out because I have a lot of time on my hands these day, it is also the reason why I'm spending so much time on PDF :pdf:

This is too hard, far too many...I'm in my 30s now...so, this is across the years

The wire - Gritty
Breaking bad - BITCH
The sopranos - HELLO
Daredevil - only a couple of seasons, but brilliant
Family Matters - showing my age here, but this was regular Friday night viewing on ABC/CBS
Six feet under - brilliant
Friday night lights - epic
Oz - edgy
GoT - no explanation needed
The Simpsons - this used to be an institution
South Park - talk about pushing boundaries
The X Files - Fox and Moulder

:sarcastic:...Yeah I'm my 30s as well, so it was hard for me to narrow it don to just 5. Family Matters & the Fresh prince are classics, They still air on Nickeloden, actually not sure about family matters but I still watch the fresh prince here n there.
The Simpsons was definitely an institution, add the Family guy, Futurama, and American dad, and you have a complete Empire.
South park- 90s in a nutshell
The wire and the sopranos were brilliant

"Six feet under - brilliant
Friday night lights - epic
Oz - edgy" < these I have to check out
Have you watched 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'Prison break'?

.
@GreenFalcon how the hell did I forget Fresh Prince!!!

Prison Break was good for a couple of seasons, season 1 was EPIC....but, the longer it went on...wow, it like 'Lost'...went to shit.

Sons of Anarchy - is a decent watch, 'Justified' is better.

In no particular order.. TV shows that I really got (still am) into:

EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to mention Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Shame on me!.

Smallville - I totally geeked out when Clark fulfilled his Destiny and became Superman in the last episode.

Battlestar Galactica (2000's re-boot) arguably one of the best TV shows ever. Sci-fi or otherwise.

The Flash - IMHO the best comic book hero TV show currently on television. The one negative I would say is I don't like how they changed cannon a bit from the real DC Comics Multiverse.

Star Trek Voyager - I think all of the Star Trek shows are good. I just have a special place in my heart for Star Trek Voyager. I really got emotionally attached to the crew during their journey home to Earth.

The Walking Dead - I don't think the show is currently as good as it was a few years ago. That being said, still a really good show.

Ultraman - the show is well before my time. I got into it through YouTube and then later DVDs. To be even more specific, I'm referring to the very first Ultraman show, not his successors in later TV shows. Shin Huyata who was the first Ultraman.

Yeah I agree, The walking dead has just been dragging on for too long, they need to bring it towards a conclusion in season 7 otherwise its going to lose its vibe.

Where is 1.Dexter :o:.
2.Sherlock
3.true detective 4.fargo 5. Narcos.
Just finishing up Narcos season 1. great show! rest of them, I have to check out.
@Russell I agree about prison break, after season 1 they lost it completely. Fox is coming out with another season of it, lets see how it will be...

I was just watching narcos s02e09, as contaray to fargo, it's based on true events or inspired by true events. true detective first season was good, though you may or may not find it a bit slow, fargo season 2 was even better than the first one in my opinion, true detective 2nd season sucks. And you haven't seen sherlock :o:, what about movie?
And as for my favorite dexter , i mean GOT an B.B are some quality shows, but the thrill i used to get from dexter was unique i would say, one of the first t.v shows i started watching, introduced to the world of t.v shows by one of my friends as i was. At first i was kind of grossed or disgusted by it, due to the story line, but as the first season approached it's end i was hooked bad, very very bad.

Also for funny shows, friends, arrested development, Malcolm in the middle, and a few others..

Dexter WAS great for a few seasons, but then it jumped the shark and the ending was one of the worst endings in TV history.
lol.true, i forgot to mention, i wished they hadn't made the last season or i had not watched it, it was really the worst of all time, as for it's other season, may be a bit down but i enjoyed it all.
And Hannibal , Hannibal's ending was good, it got better with time, but it was too slow and graphic, toooooo graphic.

No haven't watched any Sherlock Holmes, read some short stories and stuff in school but never got into that whole detective genre.
As for the dexter never really wanted to watch it for the same reasons that you mentioned, but then thats how I felt about the walking dead because right after like the first episode, your hooked because of storyline.
Love all those funny shows that you mentioned plus I used to watch 'Fraiser' a lot, it's humor in a very sophisticated way.
I'll check out Dexter, you check out The Walking Dead

.
Sherlock is quite frankly brilliant...only 3 or episodes a season...but the on screen chemistry between Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman is breathtaking.

They always leave you wanting more.

DON'T WATCH THE STANDALONE CHRISTMAS EPISODE

When i ran out of shows, i did watched walking dead, it was good, for some reason i don't really remember i quit watching somewhere in the middle of season 4, will resume sometime i feel like, would recommend you Sherlock and manage uptil the end of dexter's first season. Ans yes also saw frasier, it was as you said, quite the opposite comedy of it was "community" show, i always mix up some light comedy with dark shows .
