I drink before, and I fought many of my friends for no reason. Alcohol is stupid shit. It will not gain you money nor will it gain you popularity. I am glad I am done with that shit.

Try taking an overdose of Heroin, that may kill you instantly. Like the Hollywood celebrities.

Even alcohol can easily be toxic in high doses. Though luckily your body will usually make you throw up if you take in too much alcohol, as a safety mechanism.

Errr Ranjeet I dont really associate fun with alcohol. May be in west they need it to keep their body warmer during the winters but in south Asia where its not as cold I think we can do without it.

By the way, don't ever try to inhale alcohol vapor.

That's a very quick way to become drunk, however your body's safety mechanism against alcohol poisoning (vomiting it out) doesn't work when you inhale alcohol vapor. Since it goes straight to the bloodstream.

So if you take too much by accident (very easy to do when inhaling alcohol) then your body can't get rid of it. It's not good for your health.

I used to drink 4 black label bottles of whiskey in one week out of depression. Never mixed, always neat. I used to throw up and continue drinking and drinking until I was in my comfort zone. My cocoon. After my binges, I would not even be able to eat anything for days. I would have to rely on fruit juices till my stomach was okay with eating.

Now god's used to drink madira which was a milder version of whiskey..rum and all the hard drinks thats available now. Afaik even ayurveda lets us use alcohol. Ayurveda uses alcohol as a solvent for extracting the active ingredients of certain herbs. But "when taken in excess even amrit becomes a poison"

Hinduism has always shied away from absolute dos and donts...but it says alcohol should not be consumed in excess.

There is certainly an interesting line between sin and a crime...especially in the US with alcohol.

In the US there is an acceptable "in public" blood alcohol level (it varies depending upon the state). If you cross that level you go from sin to crime. If you walk oddly down the street or drive strangely the police will give you a Breathalyzer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia test. If you are under the level they will let you go...if over they haul you off to the police station.

In many states alcohol (and cigarettes) are hit with an extreme Sin tax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to keep the consumption down since it can not be banned.

...but back to sin and crime. If some idiot grabs a bug off the ground and eats it...should it be considered "criminal" and warrant a physical punishment.

Liquor only worsens depression.

From what I have read the problem was not with the Whisky but with your then mental state. You were depressed before & after the drink so why blame the whisky !!
