what are the realities on the ground? what spectrum of society supports Hasina? who supports Khaleda Zia? is there a 3rd party/force?
For common people Hasina and khaleda supporters are actually same.

Among intellectuals/elites so called progressive force ( actually Indian stooge type ) support Hasina , and anti India aka so called backdated people ( not common people but elite ) tend to support khaleda Zia.

Although it's not the ground reality, as since Pakistan period there are many leftists intentionally joined in AL to destroy it's moderate Muslim nature .

Later after revive of BAL ( Mujib banned BAL and created BAKSAL) the BAL controller was filled with such Indian stooges.

On the other hand BNP was established by Ziaur Rahman and it was build on the dead body of NAP of Bhasani , also Muslim League supporters of formerly East Pakistan keep voting for BNP.

That's the reason in top intellectual positions of BNP is actually mostly people who are not friendly with India.

But for common people such division is not like that , with slight differences ( specially other than the allegiance to leadership and it's family) common people are almost same.

So common people who speak for govt or speak against govt hold the same ground and that is Muslim Bangladesh and don't consider India as ally, consider India as a threat.

So finally it doesn't matter what other people not a party say , or speak , because in the end both party leader act as queen regent , so as long as leadership is good inside , you can ignore all rants of our ministers.

And about third party? Surely there are third parties , and I suppose they are controlling from behind , if not then Bangladesh wouldn't remain sovereign, civil war already would have made Bangladesh another Somalia , because we have a shark surrounding us and it has deep pocket to destabilise Bangladesh.

But third power is strongly holding against all odds and from all political stooges.

But now let's not talk about the third party , because all I assumed is for my commonsense , I have no evidence on the third party and without evidence no one is bound to believe my analysis about the third party aka life line of sovereign Bangladesh.

Well aljazeera provided proofs, concrete ones and i hear there are more episodes coming.
These are huge revelations and in any other country, there would have been an uprising in army and civilians by now but i guess bangladeshis know that their govt is an indian puppet run by criminals since long.

.
who is this Daily Star? how come they arent toeing the other mainstream Bangladeshi media?
Daily star is the top English daily in Bangladesh in readership, influence and well as content quality. It is the daily that read by all the elite and influential people in Bangladesh as well as by the foreign diplomats to know about the affairs of Bangladesh. It is akin to what Dawn in Pakistan.

.
Home minister terms Al Jazeera report as yellow journalism
Home minister Asaduzzaman himself is the top criminal of the country. He is fully corrupt and the Police force remains corrupt under his guidance. He receives his percentage regularly that keeps the police force to keep on doing crimes.

Why this Earth should need a country that is inhabited by Asaduzzaman, Hasina, or General Aziz?

the only thing that Dawn is interested in is seeing Pakistan become part of Akhand Bharat.

Don't know what's the reality in Pakistan , but in Bangladesh daily star is not considered as India friendly media.

BDnews and 71 TV can be called as Indian stooge in Bangladesh; some believe that 71 TV is completely Raw owned media .

Huh....what's the outcry about ? I don't see anything wrong here to even deserve an article on this.
Israel is renowned worldwide for it's high tech and innovative equipments (spyware included). So I see no reason why bengladesh can't procure some of this, especially when the country really needs it to maintain social stability
Because the majority of Bangladeshis are staunchly opposed to any form of political or economic recognition of Israel before an independent Palestinian state. And the government claims to enforce this policy. I guess if it was an American company or something there would be much less of an outcry.

. .
Hours after publishing the report, Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry, in a statement, termed it as politically motivated "smear campaign" by notorious individuals associated with the Jamaat-e-Islami extremist group.
Well, the name Pakistan is excluded by BAL govt ? Interesting , isn't it @Avicenna ? :what: :undecided::blink:

But poor jamatis will always remain scapegoat. Alas why did you guys ( JI) make alliance with BNP instead of the holy grail BAL .

Now face the consequence for eternity! 8-)

Al Jazeera: Bangladesh’s Most Wanted Criminal Operating Network from Budapest

A Bangladeshi man wanted for murder fled to Budapest years ago and has been operating his criminal network from there ever since, a recent investigation by Al Jazeera reveals.

The ‘Ahmed clan’ continues to make money by colluding with Bangladesh’s security forces to extract bribes for state contracts and job positions while enjoying the support of the country’s prime minister Sheikh Hasina, an investigation by Al Jazeera found.

The criminal group is led by two brothers, Harris and Anis Ahmed, former bodyguards of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. They were found guilty for their involvement in the 1996 murder of Mustafizur Rahman Mustafa, said to be a member of a rival political party.

Their brother is General Aziz Ahmed, head of the Bangladesh Army and close confidant of PM Hasina. After the murder, the two men fled from the authorities while their brother tried to cover up their criminal case.

Anis Ahmed is living in Kuala Lumpur, to where he escaped after his murder conviction was upheld in 2007.

The other brother Haris, who is still on the country’s list of most wanted criminals, fled to Budapest, and has been living there using the fake identity of Mohammad Hasan, Al Jazeera’s investigation discovered.

Leaked documents reveal how General Aziz used military officers to help Haris create the false identity, which was then used to buy properties around the world and set up businesses in Europe, the news outlet reports.

Despite being on Interpol’s most-wanted list for years, Haris bought downtown real estate, operated a clothing store, restaurants, and a currency exchange office in Budapest. According to Hungarian investigative journalism center Direkt36 which helped the investigation, Hungary’s Honorary Consul of Bangladesh also helped Haris to move to Hungary, although it is not clear whether he knew anything about the man’s background.

After the release of the investigation, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement describing Al Jazeera’s findings as a “smear campaign.” It also dismissed the claims that Haris Ahmed had any links to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina or any other state institution.

‘We are responsible to the country; we are obliged to fulfil any responsibility as required by the country’

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed on Sunday inaugurated a hospital in Chandpur’s Matlab North upazila.

The hospital, “Abdul Wadud Sarkar 10-bed Mother and Child Welfare Centre”, is located in the Tarki area of the upazila, and is named after Gen Aziz Ahmed’s father.

Notably, this is the first time Gen Aziz Ahmed has visited his ancestral village after taking office as the chief of army staff, according to a press release.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the army chief, while answering questions from reporters, said the Bangladesh Army is prepared to fulfil any duty entrusted to it by the government.

“We are responsible to the country; we are obliged to fulfil any responsibility as required by the country,” General Aziz said.

Highlighting the success of his force, Aziz said the people of Bangladesh are aware of the fact that the Bangladesh Army was very active in its efforts to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic.

He continued: “The government sought the army’s help when our honourable prime minister declared war on the coronavirus pandemic. We then worked for the country risking our lives.

“Around 1,100-1,200 army members visited 62 of the 64 districts every day to work for the people, raise awareness and distribute masks and other necessary equipment.”

“We provided healthcare by building temporary hospitals amid the pandemic. Army members treated pregnant women when they couldn’t go to hospitals,” the army chief added.

Several top officials of the government and the army, including the lawmaker of Chandpur 2 constituency Md Nurul Amin, were present during the hospital’s inauguration.

If she has any iota of sense, she will distance herself by using these people as sacrificial scapegoats, which they so rightly deserve. Take away a few heads, all is supposed to be good, problem taken care of...
She’s in a pickle if she uses him as a scapegoat, no one in army will trust her and her days will be numbered. There will be coup
But if she doesn’t, someone who can turn this into chaos in streets can do massive damage to her power
I understand your pains......we go through similar pains here, especially when zardari was president and kiyani was army chief
Kiyani was like this dog aziz?
And probably also not to align with Saudi
