Good news.

Proton is a national car maker but it was plagued with many issues eg: cronyism, QC, mismanagement etc.
They didn't do well in local market, then majority of the stakes were sold to Geely.

Things have improved after that, Proton under Geely management is launching Proton Boyue (SUV) here. Here is the review n much more https://paultan.org/2018/08/01/prot...le-design-from-geely-boyue-interior-retained/

Geely is the owner of volvo too

Proton cars and Petronas oil are the two companies on the back of which the Malaysian nation stood up.

Another brilliant move from Al-Haj group. This is the only group that produced a better alternative in terms of price and quality to Suzuki. FAW car is cheaper and has Eu-3 as well as safety bag compared to the Swift.

Given the dollar rise, the price of the car shouldbe lower. Proton cars are made up of japanese company mitsubishi technology. In Malaysia they are cheaper than their Japanese and European competitors.

Proton has been introduced before.
If Al-Haj can introduce a cheap option than big 3 mafia [Toyota, Suzuki, Honda], they'll do well here.

Not bad... rest depends on performance and price.
