It's not random, he's a research analyst that specifically researches on militancy. He has also written articles for CTC at West Point so safe to say he is fairly credible. As long as the person is credible I post him, anyway he himself is saying it's according to locals from the area.

So the accuracy of the information is questionable since locals misidentify things, however that usually extends to the type of aircraft in these cases.
